Biggest "Destroyation" ever!!!
I know it was only a 10 goal win and there a have been many bigger, but if there has been a bigger "destroyation" (to use a Jack Dyer term) of a team from their last line of defence through to their forward line then I have never seen it.
Had we taken advantage of the opportunities that "the ultimate pressure machine" created then we could have won by 50 goals, the domination was so strong.
And then in the last quarter, whilst we played a very unattractive brand of footy, it was discipline personified. We were 10 up so, if they still wanted to put numbers behind the ball, well we were just going to kick it around. And it was done to perfection.
This looks very much like a team that, once it's in front, is going to be impossible to beat, if we remain disciplined. Go Saints!

It was fantastic team pressure.
Not only did we put the ball carrier under pressure but we put pressure on ALL his options leaving him little room for error.

Tired? Did they look tired?
They look fresh as a daisy to me.
That is the most pleasing aspect about it... the Saints managed their post-blockbuster fatigue very well. Still racked up a win last week. And looked bloody fearsome yesterday.
I think of Adelaide as something of a St. Kilda-lite. Neil Craig has made no secret of how much he admires the Saints and strives to match their pressure.
It's one thing to imitate that pressure... it's another to defend against it!!!

Of couse they didn't look tired. It was just a poor attempt at sarcasm on my part, more of a rhetorical question.....InkerSaint wrote:Tired? Did they look tired?

Re: Biggest "Destroyation" ever!!!
Agree. It was as much a thrashing (except on the scoreboard) as almost any game I can remember. And lets not forget, they did the same thing to someone else last week and had won the last 7. Incredible. Awesome.perfectionist wrote:I know it was only a 10 goal win and there a have been many bigger, but if there has been a bigger "destroyation" (to use a Jack Dyer term) of a team from their last line of defence through to their forward line then I have never seen it.

Just another example of what's possible, Saints.
