Sunday twighlight games
Jam them for me and I bet any other country fans too

Just another example of Zig and Zag structuring AFL programs purely to appease the media and/or gain the maximum buck in disregard to the bums on seats regular fans/club members

In support of country fans for starters and purely cos I'm one , but basically these game times are POOP!!

for years all the Vic country trains have left Spencer St sat and sun night around 6-6.30pm
and you could always make it

Now its great I know with the Dome only a drop kick from Southern Cross but even as a MCG member (if we ever get to play a bloody game there) the 6-6.30 trains are fine

But these bullshite 4.30 games are just another example of whatever I said B4 !!

With the Cats game and the Albury train leaving 6.13 a fortnight ago I decided to stay overnight in Melb thinking its gunna be a close one ..... and do a days pay!!
yeah Well imagine having to leave that one with 10 minutes to go !!

Made the right call but it was costly Haven't been so excited and wound up during the final minutes of a game since '66!!

anyway I haven't even mentioned those who also drive back to their country abodes after a Sunday match , or the heaps of fans that come down by special coaches from the bush
most don't make the trip ! in fact a lot of coaches don't run
Its impossible and especially for kids to get home another 2 1/2 hours on from bloody quite late already Sunday night
anyway they pee me off !
and I gotta sit at home and put up with the crap common taters !

and I can't have a beer with the Livewire Pre-game Sippers

I'm not a country bumpkin like you, and only have a 30 minute commute on CONnex to get home (if it works/not cancelled), but agree 100%

NO Melbourne team should get anymore than 3 Twilighters per year, and we got given 7 this year.

We were shafted, no doubt about it!

Agree. I'll still go to them, but I won't take my kids. You'd think the AFL could spread them out b/w clubs a bit more. It feels like every second week we've got one. A couple a year is fair enough, but spread the bloody load.

I am a country member (2 hour drive in from Traralgon) and I quite like them. They suit my circumstances very well. What doesn't suit me are Saturday day games.

To each their own ... and it must be an impossible task to try and please everyone with the fixture.

Well we wont get anywhere near as many next year so it should be ok. Like all timeslots there are people who cant attend because of various reasons. At least the twilight allows kids who play junior footy on Sunday a chance to attend.

I dont think we were shafted, at the time of the draw we were playing some boring footy so deserved it, I hate it too but have got used to it now.

I'm sorry but I cannot share your optimism there plugger. We copped 5 of them this year, which is way above the odds. If we are to be treated fairly with the 2010 FIXture we will get a maximum of 2 Sunday Twilight games.

I'll just wait until the leaks start during prelim final week !!

Ten and Seven decided we were playing crap football that nobody wanted to watch last year and they are paying for it this year.

The networks stuffed up big time, see how many Friday and Saturday night games we get next year.

My bet is we get no late Sunday games, except maybe one or two interstate.

Were our ratings on TV crap last year?

I can't recall that being the case.....perhaps the FTA's were more biased towards Richmond and Carlton for this season than in recent years.
