Sunday Twighlights???
Sunday twighlight games
Jam them for me and I bet any other country fans too
Just another example of Zig and Zag structuring AFL programs purely to appease the media and/or gain the maximum buck in disregard to the bums on seats regular fans/club members
In support of country fans for starters and purely cos I'm one , but basically these game times are POOP!!
for years all the Vic country trains have left Spencer St sat and sun night around 6-6.30pm
and you could always make it
Now its great I know with the Dome only a drop kick from Southern Cross but even as a MCG member (if we ever get to play a bloody game there) the 6-6.30 trains are fine
But these bullshite 4.30 games are just another example of whatever I said B4 !!
PLICKS Zig & Zag !!
would have to leave midway through the last Q from the dome even
With the Cats game and the Albury train leaving 6.13 a fortnight ago I decided to stay overnight in Melb thinking its gunna be a close one ..... and do a days pay!!
yeah Well imagine having to leave that one with 10 minutes to go !!
Made the right call but it was costly Haven't been so excited and wound up during the final minutes of a game since '66!!
anyway I haven't even mentioned those who also drive back to their country abodes after a Sunday match , or the heaps of fans that come down by special coaches from the bush
most don't make the trip ! in fact a lot of coaches don't run
Its impossible and especially for kids to get home another 2 1/2 hours on from bloody quite late already Sunday night
anyway they pee me off !
and I gotta sit at home and put up with the crap common taters !
and I can't have a beer with the Livewire Pre-game Sippers
see ya soon Dave!!
so enjoy the game folks and give a thought and yell for all of us died in the wool Sainters who no thanks to Zig an Zag can't make it to the bloody game!!
cheers

I'm sorry but I cannot share your optimism there plugger. We copped 5 of them this year, which is way above the odds. If we are to be treated fairly with the 2010 FIXture we will get a maximum of 2 Sunday Twilight games.plugger66 wrote:Well we wont get anywhere near as many next year so it should be ok. Like all timeslots there are people who cant attend because of various reasons. At least the twilight allows kids who play junior footy on Sunday a chance to attend.
I'll just wait until the leaks start during prelim final week !!

4:40PM = 8:40AM
Much better than a 2PM start or a 1:10 start

Absolutely nothing to do with balance.ohwhenthesaints! wrote:I think it's about balance, and we simply have been allocated to many twilights this season...
Ten and Seven decided we were playing crap football that nobody wanted to watch last year and they are paying for it this year.
The networks stuffed up big time, see how many Friday and Saturday night games we get next year.
My bet is we get no late Sunday games, except maybe one or two interstate.
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

Were our ratings on TV crap last year?Bernard Shakey wrote:Absolutely nothing to do with balance.ohwhenthesaints! wrote:I think it's about balance, and we simply have been allocated to many twilights this season...

I can't recall that being the case.....perhaps the FTA's were more biased towards Richmond and Carlton for this season than in recent years.
thumbs up mate.....donthglfa wrote:I Hate Twilight games but dont mind Sunday games.

Also hate friday night games.
Dislike Sat arvo games cos I play.
Dislike Sunday games cos I work.
Love Sat night games cos I can go out and celebrate afterwards!!!!
Matches should never be scheduled if the saints are going to lose.

I absolutely hate the Twilight games.
I find them very inconvenient. Full stop.
I find them so inconvenient that every time we have one, I seriously have to weigh up whether or not to actually go....
Add to that the lack of free to air TV this year an I reckon we got shafted.
yada yada....
Wont be the same next year though...Will be all Friday & Saturday night action with no Twilights and all games on free to air.
I have managed to ninja a replay of every game this year off the web anyway....made my own fkn box set
