what idiot decided to put the umpires in gold and blue yesterday.
just to make it look even more confusing on the tv, don't know what the players thought

I too was concerned about what I would find when I opened this thread.
The thought of umpires running about making decisions in the nakey-nakey is a little terrifying.
After all, how many times would the crowd be yelling "BALL" during the course of the match?
The goal-umpire's signals could be regarded as boasting.
The players would be glancing at the umpire during the course of the match and think he is waving play-on all the time.
In a particuarly exciting game, he could be indicating a free kick one way whilst pointing the other.
