Actually did the same up here at Carrara against the Demons. I was surprised and a bit disappointed.Aussie Bears wrote:A few wins and you are too cool too come clap and thank your supporters.

As much as I wasn't a huge GT fan as coach, he was big on the Importance of respecting supporters and involving players with them when travelling interstate win, lose or draw. Well up here anyway.
I always admired that.

We do. We clap and support them for 120 minutes and thank them after the final siren.Bernard Shakey wrote:Yeah, and I'm so pissed off that they don't personally thank me every week.
You all should be thanking them, not vice versa.
I don't think it's too much to acknowledge the supporters who have spent a lot of their money and travelled up to 3000 klms to support them.

Heard a few comments about this from disgruntled fans after the game. Can't say I blame them really, they looked pretty buggered (the players that is), but I can understand where some are coming from. BTW, it doesn't just go one way. We pay their wages after all.

Those wee girl supporting security really are bitter twisted sore losers.St Michele wrote:I must say that was very disappointing as they normally do. My daughter ( the traitpr docker) says it is security that stops them coming that none of the teams are allowed to.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

If it was an oversight its an isolated one...I reckon they are pretty good at acknowledging the fans at Interstate games

yeah
i asked about 6 or 7 players after the game as they were leaving the change rooms, o\i just wanted to see if they had the same excuse of if they were going to make rubbish up because the couldnt be fu..ed walking up to our end.
half of them said they forgot and then got reminded as they were walking up the race, but would be too embarrassing to come back out to us so they didnt. and the other half said its been a big 2 weeks with the media on them they sort of forgot for a bit and really didnt have time as they had to be in and out of the rooms with in 20-30 mins, that includes showers, interviews etc..
milney was very nice thought, made time to stop, put his bag down and have a chat. he said the players appreciate the support the cheer squad put in for them, and all the perth saints fans. he also said it sounded like there were thousands more saints fans this year compared to last, is that because now we are winning we have found our voices or did the WA saints get more tickets or something? it did sound pretty loud from where i was
CJ was also very nice, stopped for a min or two.
one person who didnt have time to chat was Gardiner i asked why they didnt come down and he kept walking and just said "ha"

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."
