Congrats on 50 games Mini
getting ahead of the team selection and any injury or unexpected change
Well done Andrew on getting to 50 games- you have traversed the troubled waters and are paddling hard in unison with the team.

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

Mini v Cyril Rioli:
Rioli:
11 games, 82% TOG
15 goals, 12 behinds, 11 goal assists, 15 score assists
Averages 9.4 kicks, 7 handballs, 7.3 contested possessions, 4.8 tackles
McQualter:
14 games, 78% TOG
12 goals, 5 behinds, 15 goal assists, 20 score assists
Averages 4.9 kicks, 10 handballs, 6.6 contested possessions, 4.4 tackles
Mini's had 12 score assists in the last month. He's a ground level juggernaut. He might not be delicious, but he's having an awfully good year.

Huge effort.
Remember, this is where he was at less than two years ago: http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/ ... 67,00.html
He's realised how privlidged he is to play AFL football. He's developed into a tough, hard and uncompromising player who understands that playing AFL is about giving 110% at training and in matches.
A real credit to himself. He's had to do it the hard way because it would have been very tough to swallow his pride after being cut the first time.

Agree with everything you say here.
He's no Gary Ablett (if you call hanballing good) or Chris Judd but he goes out there every week and puts in 100%. Has produced some great plays in the last couple of years including that great goal against Sydney this year. Come a VERY long way from where he was not that many years ago.
Looking forward to 2010 - I'm gonna Lovett!

Do not forget the fact he was a First Round DP....
In 2003 he played well enough as a 16yo in the U18 carnival to be considered a chance to be drafted - only his size at the time stopped him from being drafted......In 2004 he was Vic Country Capt...and his leadership qualities, along with his attack on the ball assured he was drafted in 2004....in the first round of selections......possibly because he was under 180cm saw him get through to us....
The boy could always play.....
He did flounder due to some limitations and they struggled to find a role for him.....but he had talent....
High Fwd Pocket - he can perform.

Simple progression IMO
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!
I met Mini at Harves' testimonial dinner and he is a ripper bloke.
Great effort and a real example for all of us who have setbacks.
Congrats Mini and keep it up!
