Are they giving out footys now, now posters?
That's cool!
Does anyone know why?

Are they personally signed - or ones that have the pre-copied signatures onto them?

they signed them on the field, saw gilbert with a marker pen.
they dont (or arent sposed to) throw them into the crowd due to occupational health and safety.
they use footys now instead of posters because of all the extra money that came in for the club in memberships in the last fortnight :P .

On the coverage last night, as the players were walking up to the fence to hand their footy's over Brian Taylor mentioned how players these days are instructed to go and hand it to the crowd for occupational health and safety reasons rather than throw them or kick them.

As he was saying that you see Joey, about 10 metres out from the fence, NFL quarterback style, absolutely piff his into the crowd.

I can understand the occupational health and safety issues, but I think its great if they kick the footballs into the crowd so supporters on levels 2 and 3 have a chance.
I sit on level one, and having no younger kids with me, much as I'd gratefully accept a footy, I'm happy for the boys just to approach the boundary and acknowledge the crowd.

I doubt they could kick one of those cheap little football's into level 2, let alone 3.

Well, maybe BJ could.

If Gram attempted to last night, he would've hit Rooey on the chest I reckon.

Level 3 might be hard....

But I saw at least 3 balls near me go up to Level 2...some by kicks and some by throws.

True. Might take a super effort, but more chance than a poster!

I was where Schneider handed balls out.
I've gone down to the fence every time i've been on level 1 since the start of 2008 and haven't got anything yet. But it's still good to see the boys come to the fence - gets the supporters excited.

Looking forward to 2010 - I'm gonna Lovett!

Well when they came to Carrara (home game remember), they didn't even come over to the fence let alone hand out anything, not happy Jan

Zac threw the ball up to us in the 2nd row, it hit the seat in front of me and bounced forward to a old Sainter who thought he was it and a bit by getting the ball, a very p!ssed Tiger fan up in the box yelled out we might be loosers mate but so are you if you keep that ball "GIVE IT TO THE KIDS YOU FLOG"

I gave the missed by that much sign to Zac, he had a laugh and gave us the thumbs up which was also quite funny.
