Max's ankle ? !!
Radio reports said that he will have scans tomorrow. It was a good sign that he got back on. I'm hoping that when he came back off it was only precautionary.
The positive if he misses next week is that we have a ready made replacement in Goose !!

Maguire and Hudghton are like chalk and cheese.
One is an agile full-back with exceptional closing speed and the best spoil in the AFL.
The other was (5 years ago) a strong marking, fairly slow and tough backman who could attack and do some damage.
If Hudghton isn't fit, either Gwilt, Miles, Armitage or R. Clarke will come in ... they are all next in line.
Wish people would get over this obsession with Maguire. Go and watch the VFL.

agreed or bring in a third tall in gwilt or lynchplugger66 wrote:If Max is out and you think he is just about out already then I think Armo would come in. We do not need another backman and this way we get another runner.

IMHO its either a smaller running option that couldplay back IF needed...Armitage.....or Dempster for a Stokes job...
or its something that helps us with that 3rd tall fwd option (either freeing up a Goddard for example).
It isnt Maguire UNLESS we thought he could go with a Max Rooke (who gets under some teams guard...and loves it tough...could Goose go with him?)

Sad to say - but we don't need goose at the moment. He's a handy back-up but that's all for the time being. We won out first 7 in a row without Max and played some superb footy doing it. I'm pretty relaxed about whoever Ross brings in, but am fairly sure it won't be Goose though. May be the making of Armitage if Ross gives him a chance.
As a wild card, I hear that Jack Stevens has great hands in close and is quick. This will be the type of game that type of skill will be invaluable I reckon.

Aussie just reckons he's a hypochondriac
mentioned something about a broken finger nail at his first training session..
was fun to listen to the commentators trying to find out how he was and mentioning that the ambulance was outside the rooms-------------------just as Max ran onto the ground from the race............

I think his time is up with Gilbo and Zac coming on as well as they have...
Agreed
There is not room on the ground at the same time for Blake and Hudghton.
Blake played well today but
When Blake and Hudghton are together it is a clanger waiting to happen.
Both make mistakes whether bad decisons, fumbles or poor disposal.
