why trading armitage?

don't trade matt maguire unless he wants to leave but even then make him stay...somehow
If there is a desire to trade Armitage then we should wait until the Gold Coast team comes on board. He is just the type they would want - young, highly rated and unable to crack it into a senior side. Being a Queensland boy would make them all the more keen to get him and we could benefit greatly out of a trade.

That said, I'd rather keep him.
Saying Armitage is a Queenslander makes no sense, he is from Mackay and played in Brisbane for a year or two, yes a Queenslander but the Gold Coast is still a long way away from home

Its like saying that a player from Sydney wants to return home to NSW on the back of a football team being set up on goondiwindi

Same difference, not really an arguement

He's not going anywhere. Not if the opinions of Lenny Hayes where anything to go bye on his 21st Party on Saturday night. He'll be a saint for years. :!:

I'm all for keeping Armo but in his situation it would be hard to hold it against him if he did decide to go elsewhere...

Sides like North, Richmond, Collingwood, Fremantle and Sydney could use another player like him...

why? does winning the grand final mean you don't have to delist anyone? i don't think so. so why not discuss it? you better believe the coaches are.

i reckon it's from these:

hudghton: will almost certainly retire this year - more so because zac's popped up.
king: will retire if we win the grand final, and probably won't otherwise.
x clarke: could go - it wouldn't be the first time the coach changed his mind (attard).
l fisher: surely. i thought he'd be gone last year.
maguire: outside chance of a trade, because we have a surfeit of talls, but otherwise safe.
r clarke: very rough chance of a trade, otherwise safe.
begley: safe for another year unless he's really showing nothing in the twos.
allen: would want to play a couple of games by the end of the year to make sure he's safe.
connors: injury unlucky, but still at sandy reserves after a year and a half, so may be in trouble.
cahill: hasn't yet played a game for sandy seniors, so not in the best spot.
To early for him will be going but Allen and Cahill will not be going. Both under contract so they probably would not get rid of either. Cahill is safe and Allen is safe as long as his hip is OK for next season.

we need a player like him... he is tough...

if he gets more of the ball he could be a top line midfielder, he just has to want it.

He has in the seniors before got 20 possesions and quite reguraly gets over 10 with not much game time. He obviously doenst work hard enough on the track or he will get games.

Should play off the HFF , he is a tough midfielder and will keep the ball in fwd 50.

Can see Geary out next week to give Armo a game
