Zac Dawson's night
i can't find Lyon's comment on the internet but he stated last night when asked if zac had a shoulder injury,
that if that how zac plays with injury or not 100% fit he should be be fantastic when he's 100% fit.
anyway it was something like that. pretty impressed i think lyon was.

Two Saints supports behind me spent the entire night rubbishing everything he did...like they weren't even watching the game! Why does this guy get such a bad wrap based on one game he played 4 years ago? He's doing a bloddy terrific job for us, sure he looks like a bit of a dork, but who follows footy based on who looks cool on the ground??? Ray copped it too...amazing. Whoever it was...if they're on here...grow a brain and lay off our new guys.
Having said that, Zac lost it a little after the big mark, even though the game was over, lost concentration seemed to cost us a couple goals at the end of the game. At 79 points ahead during the 4th quarter, I was looking forward to sealing the night with a ton up on the Teal, but it wasn't to be. Guess I shouldn't get gready.

Dawson has been servicable, but I think he may be shown as a depth player only once the heat turns up. A good depth player to have however.

A) he is only a rookie,
B) he has only played 19 games. and 5 of those games have been for the saints. he has been very good.
he only had 2 poor pieces of play. i think one of those which resulted in a goal.
when hudgeton retires, he will take over.

Lyon said that if that's how Dawson plays with a shoulder injury then he'd love to see him fit, because he's "f--king fantastic".
What a find.
Seriously, the kid has done a great job at FB since Round 1. Yet to be beaten and has shown confidence when he has the footy.
Our full back for the next decade once Maxie retires IMO.

I'm not knocking the guy, he has a great attitude and is serving his role very well, but I think people are getting a little too moist over him, I simply don't believe he is a 10 year player YET...saintly wrote:give the guy a chance.Armoooo wrote:Dawson has been servicable, but I think he may be shown as a depth player only once the heat turns up. I hope he proves me wrong and continues his form.

Blindly delusional optimist. Fan of the Blake.

Your hatred of Blake is very boring. Did well tonight but if you watch wanting to think someone does badly well its pathetic really.CaptainReiwoldt wrote:dawson has been great and if you dont think so you havent been watching. He has height, guts, COMPOSURE and under pressure kicked beautifully!!
ONYA ZAC.
blake out please?
Zac was very good tonight. Did alot of unrewarded running in support. Laid a great shepherding bump on Armfield. Was strong at the ball and strong in support. Very good team orientated performance.
And he certainly loved that goal!
Neil Blake was okay tonight. He stood under the ball many times with courage. He always gives 100%.

Zac was good...
Better than Max...who is very one dimensional at present.
Zac uses the ball better than Max.
Loved his pressure goal too.
However Zac, Max and Blake is one too many in the backline.....and Zac is not the one I would be leaving out.

Criticism of Zac Dawson is just ridiculous.
He has barely made a mistake for us all year.
He takes pressure marks.
He is calm in a crisis.
He can break tackles.
He can "dance" and "sway".
His kicking efficiency rate is excellent.
Even in front of goal.
His work rate is excellent.
He has great defensive spoiling skills - with Duncan Fletcher like arms.
He is definitely in our best 18.
And he along with Gilbert is the future of our defence.
I think he is the Find of the Season.
Not just for us - but for the whole competition.

well done to Zac i have supported this kid always and am watching him grow with confidence since getting game time with you guys poor guy it was hard for him in 08 to try and break into our team due to how well all were playing , he did get on the emergency list a few times near the end but no one was injured so sadly for him still did not get in .
mind you a few times this year we could have done with him for sure

some people just did not give him a chance to shine i knew he would do well when he got the chance of more games and told these so called hawk supporters that at the time !ohwhenthesaints! wrote:Its quite sad when people hold such a stubborn pre-conceived idea of Zac and his ability. If you originally criticised the club for taking him or had a go at him as a player, it's time to let it go.
Zac is a good kid and i am happy as for him and hopefully will get a chance to chat to him soon !

Zacs becoming one of my fav players. Hes very Poised, looks after his mates, competes well against the gorillas, lovely kick, looks to have all the time in the world can duck and weave and the look on his face is one of pure determination.
Anyone who thinks he doesnt deserve his spot is kidding themself.
Go The Zac Attack!!
