"Great measuring stick" says Ratten
Well mate, here's hoping that by the end of the night you will need every millimetre of a 10 metre tape measure.
You know I can accept being beaten by Geelong, or Hawthorn, even the Bulldogs right now, but not these wankers first up.
It would be even worse than losing to the filth in last year's semi, at least then we would have had the satisfaction that Hawthorn would have done worse to them than they did to us.
But these clowns, you can hear them going we're coming, we're coming and becoming ultra arrogant.
Seriously, we have to put them in their place and make Friday night a complete anti-climax for them.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Agree 100%..the start is the key and why I hope Milney is back
Not sure on the stas re first quarter goals in the last few years but reckon Milney has had his share...break their spirit early and show no mercy

We owe them 100 years of "losing pain" for how they have had it over us for so long. Even in so many of our "good" years they still managed to beat us so it feels so good to watch them lose to us and see the supporter leave with their heads lowered instead of behaving arrogantly to us.
Please win this week!

agree. give a bunch of frontrunners like them a start and they'll be hard to catch. we must start better.iwantmeseats wrote:we NEED to get off to a good start, no shenanigans like last weeks first quarter. It will be important to take their supporters out of it, and deflate their players by re affirming they cant beat us. First quarter critical.

I thought Ratts was talking about his President.
The very eloquent Sticks Kernahan.
Who could ever forget his superb piece of oratory at the Carlton B&F.

Perhaps some of our wealthier members on Level 2 could give Sticks a slightly altered version of his famous words after the game. We're Carlton, F### the rest !

I'm far more confident of winning this week than last. Carlton have a very good midfield but not much else IMO. It's defence is poor, even more so without Waite as an option. Kosi & Roo should have a field day.
Fevola will find it a little harder this week than last & he really needs to kick another bag for Carlton to have any chance. Given his recent record against the Saints I reckon this is unlikely.
Geez I hope I'm right!!

They are fourth and the main reason they are that high is because unlike the teams around them, they haven't played St.Kilda or Geelong.Saintschampions08 wrote:In all honesty, they're the 3rd best team in the comp...
4 games lost, 1 won below 18 points...
3most amount of quarters won..
A win against them proves that we are closer to Geelong then the rest of the competition atm.

I don't think so. The Buldogs would be. The media have been pumping up Carlton and have inflated everyones perception about them. I'd be more worried about playing the Bulldogs than the BluesSaintschampions08 wrote:In all honesty, they're the 3rd best team in the comp...
