Walked over the Spencer St footbridge this afternoon...both Bulldogs and Tigers had merch tents only set up...no membership tents

Does this mean that theyve given up seeking new members on match day as the cutoff approaches?

I find that astounding that any Club has not maximized their membership potential

Great,

I remember when I signed up, I was told just over a thousand to go before it's cut off, and members only have until the 30th of this month to upgrade

32,009 members according to the official St Kilda Facebook page.

Well done Saints fans for getting on board. The club will hopefully make an extra couple of hundred grand more than budgeted for with all the extra members.

Bit disappointing that being a Foundation SC Member no longer has any extra benefit.

The intent was to encourage and reward SC Members who were there every year....and that was how it was promoted (though I have been a ScCMember for 3 decades).

Now you can just " cherry pick " once the wins were on the board and join up late this year to gain the same benefit.

if they don't they may not get back in- once the limit is reached there will be a waiting list, -

given we have over 30,000 members and some would be children is 1/3 as social club realistic? With Michael saying we have around 10,000 social club

Yes, it seems the only advantage now is that it says "Foundation Social Club" on our membership card.

A lot of these people are only buying them for Grand Final tickets so while there may be a waiting list while the team is playing well, you'd expect it to drop off when we aren't performing as good.

Nonetheless it's great to be over the 32,000 mark. It certainly didn't look like that it would be a realistic figure a couple of months ago. With another 20 days to go let's hope we can get it over 33,000.

Yes but many people are only buying them now because they've worked out it's their best chance of securing a Grand Final ticket if we make it.

Direct debit has been available for quite a few seasons now.

WHAT THE?

I was under the impression foundation member status still held the 'first shot' at GF tickets in the allocation - thats been a major reason for me to continue for so long. The club need to foster this - not remove it to reward the bandwagonners.

Is this correct?

Whats the differance. You are still guarenteed a GF ticket if we make it as are all social club members. If we didnt have bandwaggers this year we would probably have 7000 social club and 28000 members. They are very important members.

yep exactly, think of how handy those "bandwagoners' " money will be for the club.

This is the first year I have been in the social club as well but I can't see why I wouldn't renew it next year especially for that payment plan others on here have talked about.

Office today showing 32,239.
Record membership in 2006 was 32,327 - incl. Bill Express apprx. 1,000.
We should therefore, have a record year this year.

Considering our base from last year was barely 30,000 ... then this is a great result.

6.5% growth is fantastic ... and the challenge next year is to take it to 35,000.
