No! The game has been cancelled due to lack of interest from North Melbourne supporters.

Surely you are joking. The players wouldnt care if it is a record. Will not have any bearing on the result. In 2004 when we first won 10 in a row the record was 9. Didnt have a lot of effect in round 10. We won by over 100 points.saintspremiers wrote:Massive pressure on the club to win 11 in a row and break the record.
Forget Geelong in Round 14......the game as North is a massive head-test for our team.
I expect we will really struggle, BUT if we can get through and win it, Round 12 and 13 will be a breeze, with the pressure off.

The record set in 2004 included about half the current team, whilst the record of 9 in row was set yonkers ago.
Surely the 2004 troupe would love to better their efforts of only 5 years ago??
Sure, for the other players it's a little different.
Firstly probably 6-8 players played in the 9 game winning streak that then played in the 10 game streak.. Secondly I have a feeling they only want the record because they want to keep on winning. It wouldnt even come into their heads. They have more important things to worry about than some stupid record. It will be no mental test.saintspremiers wrote:No I am serious.plugger66 wrote:Surely you are joking. The players wouldnt care if it is a record. Will not have any bearing on the result. I think and hope that this will be a smashing of about 80 points. There midfield has nothing on ours making it too tough for there forwards against our quality backs. North in the last year and a half have had big bags of goals kicked on them by "power forwards" (enter Roo + Kosi).
Back to our best this week.

intrestingly lyon said aferwards that it was mentioned after the game, lyon said to be proud of the record but to move on now......plugger66 wrote:Firstly probably 6-8 players played in the 9 game winning streak that then played in the 10 game streak.. I'd rather know how many of them win a flag.Sainterone wrote:In the modern era (1966 and on), we are now ranked equal 10th for our winning streak.
