Saintsational users, you are a disgrace
This is the St.Kilda football clubs fan site, is it not.
This is where all St.kilda supporters come to express thoughts, and get updated on news.
Unfortunately, there is a select few on here, who belittle the younger posters on their spelling, or grammar, or lack of knowledge.
and i find this disgusting and appalling.
saintnat for example, from what i read is only 10, but is constantly pick on, yes there spelling isn’t spectacular
but if you pay some attention, you can understand it,
and if you can't then don’t post in it.
especially if your only going to make fun of them.
come on Sainters.
lift your game make this a place where everyone feels welcome, not just the older ones.

How do you know that poster is 10?
So far that particular poster has :-
-raised a very bad false rumour on here (supposedly bad information from 'her Dad')
-bagged SaintBrat without cause
-made posts so riddled with spelling and grammatical errors to almost make them unreadable to anybody not used to reading txt messages.
I'm still unsure as to whether saintnat is not in fact a troll just winding us all up.
I notice quite a few others are also wondering.
GIven that you've felt the need to defend this poster, why don't you verify that he/she is fair dinkum.

Oh yeah for what it is worth
If you care to go back and have a look at all of saintnat's posts he/she never had this spelling problem before
He/she also in one early post commented "I remember back in year 7 ..." which makes saintnat a lot older than 10
also he/she has a very unhealthy obsession about "hot player this or hot player that"
Verdict - Troll

Guys, stop being smartasses. Saintjake has made a fair point, if you read her recent posts, people will come down on her in a very teenager-like fashion without reading through her previous posts like some of you have. Yes if you go through those posts it might be evident that her spelling was at one point adequate, but the people saintjake is talking about are those that have not put that into consideration.

jake if you're right and St. Nat is genuinely a 10 year old enthusiastic kid, then I'll be the first to apologise.saintjake wrote:This is the St.Kilda football clubs fan site, is it not.

But I'm sceptical about whether the poster you mention is genuine or not. Looks like a troll to me.

Usually the parent has his own userid along with the child but unfortunately when the father gets on he sometimes posts into sainsational under the wrong user unknowingly or just cant be bothered changing...Mr Magic wrote:How do you know that poster is 10?

The minor then gets all this negative feedback and is hurt...remember these kids love the saints and can be offput by others and their comments.

I think I've always tried to give Nat the benefit of the doubt, I certainly hope I've never bagged her.
As for age, that's one thing, and I am trying to be delicate here in suggesting that perhaps some people's mental age is not equal to that of their chronological age. We don't know anything about Nat, and as she's not willing or able to enlighten us it is understandable that some will question her authenticity.
But surely if Dad helps her out on here sometimes he'd be reading her posts and might choose to defend or explain his daughter?
I'm trying really hard to continue to believe that Nat is who she professes to be, but I must admit that her recent posts have had a few discrepencies in relation to some of her earlier ones, and I am beginning to wonder. Even her post regarding what song the Saints reminds you of doesn't ring true as being the sort of question a younger poster would think of by herself.
Nat, if indeed you are really genuine then I hope that you don't take any of the meaner posts too seriously. You must remember that when you join and use a public forum you are likely to come up against some unfriendliness and opposition no matter who you are, and you should take any critcism from anybody who doesn't actually know you with a grain of salt.

Please don't insult me !SaintDebi wrote:Ah, red corrections, Enrico. Are you a school teacher?
But like some other posters I suspect Saintnat is not "ridgy-didge".
Some difficult words are spelt perfectly.
Other simple words are totally mashed.
But there is no consistency.
I think he/she is probably a "regular" poster having some fun with us under another name.
And here we are taking the bait.

As someone who really tries not to be judgemental and to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, I hate to admit that that very same thought has crossed my mind. Its not just the spelling either: its hard to reconcile the language used by Nat to the higher level of understanding she has of posts which contain much more complex language and sophisticated words.Enrico_Misso wrote:Please don't insult me !SaintDebi wrote:Ah, red corrections, Enrico. Perhaps a Mod with techo skills can do a CSI and link Saintnat's IP address to see if it matches that used regularly by any other posters ?

i think their would be a number of die hard saints supporters who regularly check this site- if not daily, who had the mindset of simply meeting other sainters and a avenue to share their opinion. they would be more likely to post-reply-start threads if they werent likely to be put down in some aspect of it.
gee that sounds somewhat familiar-sounds like describing exactly my own situation.
pi**es me off some what that this cyber bullying (thats what it is) is alive and strong among us, in some cases.
we all want a flag, to meet others, share ideas, tactics, stories and our frustration, and excitement but if you intention is to simply belittle others pi** to another forum and join a community that would enjoy that kind of input. im so frustrated that i personally have felt that ifs not worth giving my opinion on anything because im more worried about having my spelling reviewed or my post ridiculed by somebody who doesnt agree.
there are always to sides to a story agreed, but surely none of us need to feel worth less then another. disagree with what somebody says but this attack on the individual has to stop.
thats my rant, and now im getting back to business, who knows i might even begin to reply and share my own thoughts- regardless if the masses agree with them.
GO SAINTS.

Please share dals_da_bomb. Most on here are fairly reasonable, and you're right, we all share a love of the Saints.dals_da_bomb wrote:i think their would be a number of die hard saints supporters who regularly check this site- if not daily, who had the mindset of simply meeting other sainters and a avenue to share their opinion. they would be more likely to post-reply-start threads if they werent likely to be put down in some aspect of it.

I for one like to hear people's opinions regardless of whether I share them or not. In some cases I have even been enlightened and persuaded to change my point of view!
The trick is not to be too prescious, and don't take it to heart if somebody disagrees with you. In most cases threads only seem to degenerate when one person retaliates at a minor criticism and it escalates.
(Not having a go at anyone guys! I actually find most of the disagreements quite entertaining! )

I think it's disrepectful to the existing posters on here to use bad grammar and punctuation. It's not hard. They teach it in primary school.
Why people refuse to do it is beyond me. You make the effort to come here, log on and post - why not take half a second longer to make your posts clean?
Posts don't have to be perfect, particularly in spelling. But I think there's three basics that can easily be followed:
- Use spaced paragraphs - this makes for easy reading.
- Capital letter at the start of each sentence.
- Cap all names of people and places (proper nouns).
Follow that, and it will be recieved kindly by your fellow poster.

I went through a phase where I was disappointed with the way some posters behave on this forum.
The unpleasantries and antics are just unnecessary and uncalled for - but it's best to be above it and just ignore and relax.
i reckon only respond to the decent posters.
i.e. Don't ruin your day over some senseless sainters and don't expect the world or this forum to change in a hurry.
Just enjoy your family , your friends and your day... and prioritise the important things in life and de-prioritise/screen out the rest.
