So who is happy we won?
With all these negative posts and slagging of our players by some supporters you would think we ar 3-6 with a % of 80.
Umm we are 9-0 with a % of 183.
We are four games plus about 80% ahead of third.
We won a hard match coming from behind and won handsomely.
I enjoyed the game (especially the last quarter) and was satisfied with the win and the way the season has so far shaped up.
Who in their wildest dreams would have tipped this start to the season?
But all we get after another WIN is critisisms of Jimmy and Raph (as usual for those two) and Bakes - and we have people calling for four changes nets week
Get some perspective FFS and at least try to enjoy our efforts. Or if you are such a critical sad sack - at least not try to bring your sad sack pessimism on here after another great win.
Oh it was our first win against Brisbane in 996 days as well. Anotyher achievement if anyone cared to look.

Well done Saints!!!
We're not gonna win every match by 10 goals, and keep every team goal less for half the match.
We need these types of games, otherwise we'll lose them whenever we get challenged.
SO the last two games have been a great sign.
I reckon the boys are tiring, and are looking forward to that mid season break, might be time to rest some players for that exact reason - rest. It's only Melbourne next week. :p And they dont wanna win!

We played shithouse today Joffa, and it was fairly blatant.
We have been carrying this sloppy form for the last few weeks and have been luckly to have played some lesser teams. Today it showed: poor disposal, poor decision making and costly turnovers.
Charman, Leunburger, Patful and Merrett didn't play, coupled with Hooper.
Riewoldt and Kossi played against kids, first gamers in fact, King and Gards rucked against nobodies.
Sorry if I don't have the same enthusiasm as your great self but that is not a performance that I believe would come close to challenging Geelong.
I'm ecstatic with the win, and rapt that we have a four game break.....but don't expect people to be talking premierships with that performance.

against an interstate team.....with their two KP defenders out......a team who was crunched by geelong by 100 points.......with 6 players under 10 games experience.......and we just ran over......
NO - not very impressed.....I would liked a more polished performance in a milestne game for a champ.....
If we want to be a contender, we need to play a better brand than that....but more of a worry was that we played a lot like early 2008....and not like r1-7 2009......a reliance on a few.....and a lot of passengers on the 'bus'
Yes we are 9-0........but so are Geelong.....and the Dogs and Hawks are warming up.....

The Bears threw everything at us today, and we responded very very well.
Kudos to Ross and his team for some telling changes at just the right times.
We are in a form slump, but good teams win when they are in a slump. It wont be long till we are back to our best.Spinner wrote:We played shithouse today Joffa, and it was fairly blatant.

well i thought the umpiring was putrid!Enrico_Misso wrote:I didn't think the umpiring was too bad apart from a shocker against Baker.
i hate this bean flickers who pin people standing in a tackle.
the rule on the tackle seems to be that if you wrap your arms around someone and hold them standing on their feet then they are deemed to be tackled.
should be a ball-up if the man stands in a tackle.

That is bordering on cockiness blaming today on a form slump.

Spot on mick13. We've still got a lot of work to do...good thing is that we have 9 wins under our belt and can still improve massively.mick13 wrote:We're not gonna win every match by 10 goals, and keep every team goal less for half the match.
I really admired the way we just stepped up to the plate in the last quarter when the game was creeping away from us. Also Milney had a terrible game but was able to come up with 3 big goals for us with the game on the line. There were a number of players down on form (as there were last week) but it was great that all the players willed the team over the line.

Yep, that Geelong, the one that played one of last years preliminary finalists...the Geelong that had its center half forward suspended. That Geelong.Iceman234 wrote:The same Geelong that JUST got over the line against the Dogs Friday night, after being 37 points up....?Spinner wrote:Sorry if I don't have the same enthusiasm as your great self but that is not a performance that I believe would come close to challenging Geelong.
That Geelong?
Geelong beat somebody on Friday night......We didn't today.

Lesser Teams???Spinner wrote:

Every team is a lesser team we are on top of the ladder
Apart from Geelong and the Saints - Essendon and Brisbane have been the form teams of the competition in the last month - Essendon are sitting 4th and Brissy 6th - both outfits are playing great footy and we beat them both without even getting out of 2nd gear
The last 2 weeks have been 2 fantastic results for this club as in other years we more than likely would have capitulated meekly and lost those games
St Kilda is now a team that believes it can win
The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!
