Knew he was never going anywhere. We have a really tight knit playing group at the Saints.

Besides, he was never moving to the GC. His parents have sold up everything in QLD and are in the process of moving to Victoria. Was nothing else up there for Nick.

St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt has given the AFL club a massive boost, signing until the end of 2013. The announcement kills off the new Gold Coast club's bid to sign the brilliant key forward. Riewoldt, 26, grew up on the tourist strip and was the No.1 player target of the new team, which joins the AFL in 2011. The three-time All-Australian has played 166 senior games for the Saints since his 2001 debut and won their best and fairest award four times. He is in his fifth season as Saints captain and the deal effectively means Riewoldt will play his entire AFL career at the club. St Kilda are unbeaten after eight games this season and are on top of the ladder.

"I'm excited to have the opportunity to continue playing with the Saints, a club that has become a part of my extended family," Riewoldt said. "I feel at home at St Kilda and enjoy playing with so many good mates. It's an honour for me to not only be the captain of this great club, but also to commit my playing future to the Saints."

I felt sick when Demetriou stated On the Couch that if we lost Roo we'd be able to get a 2nd round pick.

We will still lose 1 player to the GC... who will it be?

"Under an agreement with the League, the Gold Coast is allowed to sign one out-of-contract player from each of the existing clubs from the end of 2010"

This sounds like one player from each club will be on the move.
