Changes v Brisbane
Max is ready.
Goose has kicked 10 in two weeks.
Who the hell do we take out?
Geary, Gwilt and Blake would be my current bottom three. Blake stiff however its hard to pick.

In: Max, Goose
Out: Gwilt, King
Play Max on Brown and Zac on Bradshaw.
Play Goose as the third tall forward option swapping with Gardiner in the ruck. Ross said on the couch tonight that he sees Goose as a mobile ruckman so this would be a game to test that theory with the Lions lack of ruck stocks.

He's pbly not... I heard somewhere that he may be carrying a niggle.boneless23 wrote:Gram would be bordering on the top 10 players at the club. He is playing his role well by breaking the lines and providing a midfield scoring option. I cant see how you could say he is at risk.skeptic wrote:
I reckon Raph might come in 2... maybe for Geary or Gram
With Raph pushing so hard, might be logical to rest him for a week if he's a bit sore

Who normally gets them? We've never fielded 2 fullbacks against Brisbane, have we?boneless23 wrote:We havent played a side so far this year with two dominant talls like Brisbane have. Bring Maguire in for Gwilt.
Opposition defenders have been zoning off Gwilt.
Maguire could play forward but if Brown or Bradshaw get out of control he could be sent back to silence them.

Well Max would have normally taken one with Sammy Fisher taking the other. Goose used to match up better than most on JB but those days may be behind us.degruch wrote:Who normally gets them? I think we look a lot better when Sam is freed up from a big assignment but I suppose the big risk is that if we play Max, Zac, Fisher, Gilbert, and Blake are we going in too tall??
Their forward line is well balanced with the two talls obviosuly but also in- form smalls like Sherman, Power and Proud.
I would go mostly head to head in the midfield. It is essential that we play an offensive negator on Drummond but sides have been attempting this for a few weeks now with very little influence.
Yep as I said, dominant yes....tall no.St DAC wrote:According to the Lions website he's 191cm & 95g. Anyway you look at it that's key forward size.ohwhenthesaints! wrote:Is bradshaw really so tall, I wouldn't really say his a tall forward? Dominant yes, tall no...
As a comparison Brown is 195cm, Roo is 193cm.
I am thinking they would be more concerned who to play on our forwards, who are both tall and dominant

191 is tall. It's about 6'3" in the old. Bradshaws strong enough on the lead and overhead that he plays taller than his height. That said, so do a lot of our defenders.
I think the matchups are likely to be Fisher on Brown and Zac on Bradshaw, with Gilbert dropping off someone to help out. Max, I think, will get another week of fitness in the VFL.

Definate:
In: Maguire
Out: King
I believe that we should only play 2 ruckmen (G&K) whn the opposition has one really dominant or two very good rucks - Kosi/Blake/(Maguire was mentioned somewhere by RL apparently) can pinch hit and provide a fair bit around the ground. Brisbane are a team with no recognised ruckmen and MG should dominate for his 75% gametime.
Also allows us to put Kosi in the ruck without losing the 2 KPF structure.
Potentially injury forced:
In: Hughton, Eddy, RClarke
Out: Blake, Ball, Gram
These are based on rumor and inuendo - but are my like for like changes if needed.
