Emergencies.......Rd 9 !!
Some of the better aspects of our season so far have been our stability & consistency.
For those reasons, I see the ONLY changes to the side for Rd 9 will be our emergencies
Matt Maguire, Raph Clarke & Robert Eddy !!

yes I maybe wrong, but I have the right to an opinion.....and that's it......he will not make it IMO....not even close, I am not sure he will ever be successful at VFL level....
seems like a nice kid - has a lot of footy talent.....that does not equal an AFL career.......Alan Murray had loads of talent..
me too mate......unlike my opinion of the guy who's arguing with you......clueless he is.......

Yep, great that the likes of Rob Eddy, Goose and Raph look (from the stat sheet at least!) as if they are pushing for selection.
Given a relatively indifferent perfomance vs the Bombers - where I thought that we lacked a fair bit of puff in the second half there may be some changes. As before though not clear who would make way though.
I suppose Dawson, Geary, McQualter and Gwilt would be the most at risk though I don't particularly think that any of them had shockers tonight.

St Kilda's Max Hudghton on the mend
Chris Mitchell | May 18, 2009 12:00am
VETERAN St Kilda defender Max Hudghton made a promising return from injury in the VFL for Sandringham. He did well enough to ensure he will be considered for Sunday's AFL game against the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium.
Hudghton, 32, played a key defensive role as Sandringham held off a fast-finishing Werribee to win by 30 points at Werribee.
In his first game of the season after suffering a calf injury, Hudghton took eight marks, to go with 11 possessions.
He played on gun Werribee recruit Marty Pask, holding him goalless, and Tim Bongetti (two goals).
The performance will create a healthy selection headache for St Kilda coach Ross Lyon.
Rejuvenated former Hawthorn defender Zac Dawson has done well in the Saints' hot start to the season and they are in no rush to change the team.
"Everyone has to bang down the door to get back in. The reality is it's no difference for Max," Lyon said last week.
Sandringham coach Andy Lovell said it was just a matter of time before the popular defender forced his way back into the AFL team.
"He just needs to get game time and build up some resilience in his body so that he's match-fit and match hard," Lovell said.
"He just has to get himself right to play AFL footy."

Matt Maguire fires Sandringham's attack on Werribee
Chris Mitchell | May 18, 2009 12:00am
REBORN St Kilda star Matt Maguire continues to impress in his new role as a power forward after tearing apart Werribee in the VFL. Maguire, fresh from a five-goal haul against the Northern Bullants last weekend, booted 5.2 and had 12 marks and 13 possessions in Sandringham's 30-point win at Werribee.
Maguire is making a comeback after two seasons wrecked by serious leg injuries. The win moved the Zebras to fifth on the ladder with a 3-5 record.
Maguire, 24, who has played six games for Sandringham this season, formed a potent partnership with spearhead Nick Sautner, who booted 7.5, as the inaccurate Zebras won 17.11 (113) to 12.11 (83).
Coach Andy Lovell said Maguire, who is stranded on 99 AFL games after making his debut in 2002, could force his way back into the Saints side as a strong-marking forward.
"Now that we have seen him play forward in the VFL it is probably worth considering," he said."It just gives him another string to his bow.
"He's gone forward two weeks in a row and kicked 10 goals. He's improving his fitness, his form is strong.
"The three games we've lost we've had no forward structure. Having Sautner and Maguire there was good."
Sandringham took the foot off the accelerator in the second half to let the Tigers back in the game.
The Zebras led by a point at quarter time, 16 at half time and 31 at the last change, but Werribee refused to surrender.
North Melbourne-listed Levi Greenwood (30 possessions) was outstanding on Sandringham skipper Peter Summers in the midfield, while North rookie Alan Obst (19 disposals) was promising on a wing.
Midfielder Michael Rockefeller was one of Werribee's best with 33 possessions, while Michael Barlow (39) impressed in his new on-ball role.
For Sandringham, AFL-listed Robert Eddy (28 disposals) and Raphael Clarke (25) were strong contributors, while St Kilda ruckman Ben McEvoy didn't damage his chances of an AFL recall with 17 disposals, six marks and 17 hitouts.
Obst, who turns 22 tomorrow, said he was desperate to win promotion to the Roos' primary list after a taste of AFL action with three games last season.
"I think Round 11 is when someone can get put up. If it's me that's great, if not I just have to play as good as I can for Werribee. But AFL football is the main goal," Obst said.
The loss sees Werribee (2-3) drop to ninth, and Tigers coach Simon Atkins said an inability to play four quarters had cost his team.
"I was happy with the first quarter and I was happy with the last quarter," he said.
"It's those bits in between that we have to get right.
"Again, we over-used the football and that cost us. We had 17 more possessions than them."

Sandy sizzles at Werribee
By Ben Carbonaro
Sandringham registered win number three, defeating Werribee by 30 points at Chrinside Park last Sunday.
The Tigers trailed by just a goal at quarter-time but the second quarter was a different story, as Sandringham kicked ahead and was dominant across the ground, particularly in defence.
The second-half saw the Zebras pile on the goals and capitalise on some sloppy defensive play from the Tigers midfielders.
When they looked to drive the ball forward, there was always a defender ready to pounce and kick it away.
Nick Sautner with seven goals and Matt McGuire five were spearheads for the Zebras. At the other end, Saints Rookie Luke Miles and veteran Max Hudghton tamed Tiger Marty Pask, who failed to kick a goal.
Best on ground for the Zebras was St Kilda-listed Robert Eddy (26 disposals), while Raphael Clarke (27 disposals) was also impressive.
Tigers coach Simon Atkins thought over use of the football cost his charges.
“Just those bits in the between that we have to get right, again our over use of the football cost us today,â€Â

Back on the Winners List
Sandringham registered win number three, defeating Werribee by 30 points at Chirnside Park last Sunday.
