Tackling Coach
i believe the st kilda football club needs to hire a tackling coach if they don't already have 1, so many tackles get broken that are laid by weak st kilder players has been the case for years. only 2 decent tacklers in the side BAKER and GILBERT and they aint the biggest blokes.
I say hire GILBO as tackling coach or look at a former nrl player to help in the area.

Lost count of the times Milne tried to "corral" a player last night.
Here's a novel idea Stephen, how about tackling the bloke instead of pointing at other blokes and telling them to man up on another loose man.
Every metre that you give your opposition the opportunity to run is another metre to advantage lost.
And we all wonder why there is a lack of forward pressure.
Would help if they friggin tackled wouldn't it!

For me our tackling has a been a major highlight this year
We are hunting in packs and gang tackling opposition players but not just tackling them - smashing them into the ground with extreme force
That said there is one player that can definitely improve substantially in this area and that player is Jason Gram
Yes people will point out that he had 3 tackles against Collingwood which is probably the average per player for the team however quite a few times I saw him converge on a player with the ball and then instead of laying a crunching tackle he took a few short steps and corraled him - maybe in terms of the opposition set up around him it was the right thing to do however the tackle was there to be laid and he took the decision not too and he was the only guy that I saw do this when the tackle was on
I would rather see him hit the bloke than corral him
Nothing at all against Grammy just an observation

The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!
In his defence he obviously has shoulder problems as he clearly hurt it in a simple tackle again on Monday night.Devilhead wrote:For me our tackling has a been a major highlight this year

If that is the case - and i say if- then maybe he should take a week or 2 out to rest his troublesome shoulder because if he is worried about laying a tackle in case he injuries it further then he shouldn't be playingplugger66 wrote: In his defence he obviously has shoulder problems as he clearly hurt it in a simple tackle again on Monday night.
