How many will turn up on Monday Night?
I just told my dad that next week was on a Monday night, and he gave me a very strange look. I'll doubtless be there, but I just wonder what sort of crowd they'll get.

Hopefully it is a pitiful crowd
This way it will
- Take the crowd factor out of the equation
- Show the AFL that this time slot is not going to work
- Will give me better seats and more leg room

Wishful thinking, but like i said to the guys today since it's a Collingwood match all the bogans will be out in force, especially since they are "back in form as one of the teams to beat", which is collingwood supporter talk for "we beat north".Armoooo wrote:Hopefully it is a pitiful crowd

I have such a sense of disloyalty of not attending.
The only reasons I have never been able to attend a game the Saints are playing in Melbourne has been the odd dose of flu or a wedding.
So I feel like I'm letting the team down by not being there to cheer them on.
My theory as to why it's a Monday night game, it's not about the "Mothers Day" round being a traditionally low in attendance but more about tonight is the last episode of "Underbelly" and what are the Collingwood ferals going to do with themselves next Monday night for entertainment?
I also think that hopefully it won't be a great attendance which sends a message to the AFL that once again they've pushed the traditonal supporter aside, those who would go if they didn't have to work the next mroning, those with school aged children, or the more senior of our supporters who will never get on a train at night especially if they have to travel home with the Collingwood ferals.
I look upon it as a silent protest against the AFL and if Channel 7 persists on a delayed telecast then at 730 we all ring up Channel 7 to protest at the same time to melt the swtichboard and send a follow up email to the AFL, even though they'll probably be sleeping in the next day due to the late finish.

Pie fans don't work, many are unemployable, the rest merely attend a place of employment.

i hope it goes well and we see more games on a monday night in future. the more days/nights that footy is being played, the better imo. Television is boring on a monday night so there is not much else on, so the t.v audience will be there.
this is also one timeslot that i can actually get too as saturdays and sundays are out of the equation for me this season
