Introduction...
Hi guys,
I had a quick look but couldn't find a general "Introduction" thread, so apologies for cluttering the forum with this.
I've only just stumbled across this site, so just wanted to say hello and introduce myself before blazing away with posts! I'm in my 20's, born and bred Melbourne but have spent a bit of time overseas. Followed the Saints for my entire life but am obviously far too young to remember much success other than finals in the early 00's. I try and get to as many games as possible and am thrilled with 2009 so far!
Anyway - carry on and go Saints!

Ok. So after having a quick look around I have ascertained that I need to:
- Always agree with Grumpy and Stinger
- Critisice Ross Lyon but jump on board when we start winning and kicking goals
- Pick faults with the Board and administration
- Throw in the odd mention of Grant Thomas just to spice things up
- Do what I can to rubbish our move to Seaford
- Know that despite our form, we'll ultimately be let down (again)
- Be generally sceptical and wary...
Correct?

Welcome Red. You're close but it's impossible to agree with GO and Stinger at the same time.Sunday Red wrote:Ok. So after having a quick look around I have ascertained that I need to:

you could always follow the thinking of a Club director

Which teams have advanced, which have gone backwards? A quarter of the way in, some answers are clear writes NATHAN BURKE.
SOME people are never happy. Their football team could win by 10 goals yet they would find something to whinge about.
They are the types for whom even a Tattslotto win would have them complaining about how much tax they owe.
Personally I find this type of football supporter the absolute worst. Even less tolerable than the fair weather supporter who jumps on board when the team is flying and is nowhere to be seen when the going is tough.
Take a look at any cheer squad and you know that football is a passionate game, and for many it is the only real release they have during the week.
The result of this passion is often a lapse in perception and at times common sense.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Quite frankly if you are Saints fan and not choofing off to work on a Monday with a smile on your face then you should have a good hard look at yourself.
Not only is your team five and oh, but the brand of footy they are playing is fascinating to watch.
We’ve seen teams apply physical pressure in the past but rarely have I seen a team maintain such a consistent standard over five weeks.
The players are fit and importantly playing for each other, which is a thing for Saints fans to saviour.
I know it’s early and there is a long, long way to go, but you have to like what we’re seeing so far.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Of course all supporters have the right to be pessimistic or optimistic about their chances, just try to add in a dose of realism when assessing your team’s performance. Football will be a much happier place if you do.
