i CAN'T REMEMBER SUCH A DOMINANT HALF OF FOOTY AGAINST A GOOD OPPONENT. tHEY HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO GET IT OUT OF THEIR BACK HALF AND WE ARE STRANGLING THEM....

Round 18 , 1961. We held Richmond to 4 points to our 9.9, probably our best ever, so tonight's our second best ever! And yes, I was there in 1961.

The way we played tonight and the last 5 weeks has been a sight to behold just great football on every level. Nothing sweeter than beating the two SA teams over there within a month 8-)

A post that encapsulates exectly what happened. Our ability to prevent them getting anything like free ball was the best I've seen. Abolutely masterful.

That Milne goal was a f*****g wonder .. I was at PJ Obriens watching the reply and I screamed out at TV everyone looking at me .. heheh

I think we have finally got the right mixture of youth and experience in our wonderful team at last! WHAT A GAME, the pressure on the opposition was fantastic, the tackling was superb,a and watching port continuously kick across ground and turn the ball over was a joy to behold......Heavenly!! :lol: :wink:

This is the best StKilda game plan and style of play I have ever seen.
We have more depth, more guts, more tackling and re-bound attacking football than I have ever seen. They are playing like Geelong on steriods.
Our bottom 6 players would be middle tier players in the teams of 2004-5, when we relied on a handful of out and out stars - like 97.
Absolutely f*cking brilliant.
I thought I was in a dream at half-time. It was so over I would have started singing the song if I had been there.
Go Saints!
Oh - and no going to the movies.


This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.

When I was much younger...I would watch the Hawks great team play and tremendous work rate...and wish that the Saints were like them.


Now they are.....maybe better too...

A Great first half of footy but to me the second half against Hawthorn at Princes Park in 1976 will never been matched With 15 fit players after half time and back in the days of no interchange we come from along way behind to beat the premiers of that year
