I heard it as well.
I thouhht he said it sincerely and with a genuinne tone of admiration in his voice.
The context was:
He was asked early in the show, "do you wish you were still coaching them?" to which he replied, "No , I couldn'to the job thast Ross is doing at the monent" (or something along those lines).
I thought it was quite a reasonable thing for him to say but certainly not worth turning into a three page thred or anything like that.

I doubt it. It's only a big deal with a couple of people on this site who like hearing the sound of their own posts. Sounds to me like he was just being politely diplomatic and giving Ross some acknowledgement for the performances so far.Moccha wrote:You'll hear more about this late as the media run with it
How about we sort this out once and for all and get the club to alternate between GT and Ross for the rest of the season. Whoever coaches the most wins is recognised as the best coach.

I am not sure why this is such a surprise. Everytime I hear GT talk about the saints post sacking I think he has been pretty honest. I have heard him talking up Ross a few times. Everyweek this year he has been very positive. I think GT would be as excited as anyone about how we are going. Take away how you think he acted as coach or "Club dictator" as some want us to believe he is a true saint through and through and loves the boys as much as we do.

Context - Brereton made some comments about someone and GT was asked his opinion. He didn't hear DB's quesstions and when asked he said he was dsitracted thinking about how good the Saints are.
Whoever the other guy is said. "are you sad you're not coaching them?"
GT answered, "Not at all Ross Lyon is doing a much better job than I could"
