The "Full-Court press"
Sorry, its a basketball analogy I know..but I cant think of a better name for it right now.
One part of our game plan that I love is our insistance on manning up when the opposition chip it around their defensive 50 looking for an opening or an unmarked teammate
Most teams allow the space and concentrate on filling the holes further up the field, but not the Saints. Every time a ball is kicked backwards or across the ground, the recipient has a man on him hassling him...really guarding the mark aggressively. They kick further back, we press further forward. What it does is ensure that the slighest disposal error from their defenders has a great chance of creating a turnover and hopefully a goal.
Its a big reason why our pressure inside attacking 50 has improved so much
The greasy conditions last night suited this plan to a tee.

doing the defensive basics really well
the boys are not only hunting in packs and pushing up like you say. But we also make sure we have someone on the mark which means if they are called play on you can have this full frontal pressure.

This is probably the pessimist in me coming out but I worry that we will nor be able to sustain that intensity for a whole season.
That kind of forward pressure must really take it out of the guys physically and mentally and I wonder what will happen come round 18 or so.
Having said that the team under Ross always seem to peak at the end of the season so I'm sure I'm wrong.
