The lid is off!
Is the lid off yet or do we have to wait for the next two games?
Are you gonna be the one?

Mine is staying on until the final siren of the grand final (and that's ONLY if we're ten goals or more up)mad saint guy wrote:The lid shall remain firmly shut until we are 12 goals up with 5 minutes to go in the grand final.
I'm not letting myself get too ahead of myself like in 2004/2005/2006/2007....
I'm enjoying every week and taking it one week at a time. Cliched but its safe and keeps me sane!

Agreed. We cannot get ahead of ourselves after the cameo of 2004. It is beginning to feel different though, because:
1. We haven't had a bad game.
2. We haven't scraped through for a 2 point win.
3. When players who have previously played starring roles are quiet, other come to the fore (Gwilt and Hayes tonight).
The balance is so right, the team is even, and you get the feeling there are half a dozen waiting in the wings who will play equally as well.
I'm Big Kev tonight!

I just want to read an endless parade of mea culpas from those that have spent their entire last 2+ cyber years potting Ross The Boss.
Cough, you freakin' sad sacks, this bloke can coach. And, if you're that sad you struggle to accept him, piss off and follow someone else.
It's called progressive vindication.

This is by far and away the best Saints team I have ever seen....and I was at the '66 GF. We have had more "stars" in some of our good teams over the years, but as a team, no team has ever played as well as this. That '78 team was close but this team is perhaps the best footy team, Saints or otherwise, I've ever seen.
Go you good things....!!!

oh dear, come on guys, premierships are NOT won in April.
Enjoy each and every win, but lets not get too carried away.
Its round 5 not round 22.

Apart from us
There are 6 other sides that will most likely make the finals this year ...
Geelong
Hawthorn
Bulldogs
Collingwood
North, and
Carlton.
And so far, how many of them have we played ?????????????????????

IMO Enrico, the Crows and Port are more likely to make the finals than Collingwood and North.
Both of those teams are struggling, and from the footy I've watched the Crows particularly, and also Port, have performed much better.
This week a big test however.
Maybe a small peek from under the lid if we get over the Doggies.

Geelong - I'll give you that one.
Hawthorn - beaten by Port in Melbourne, we smashed Port in Adelaide
Bulldogs - beaten by West Coast, I think we got over the line against them
Collingwood - Beaten by Adelaide in Melbourne, we beat Adelaide in Adelaide
North, - beaten by Bulldogs see above, beaten by Hawthorn see above
Carlton. - beaten by Sydney, we beat Sydney comfortably
And so far, how many of them have we played ?????????????????????

Yep I'm with you DSG. Way too early to be loosening the lid. Premiers in April means SFA in the context of the season. Am thoroughly enjoying winning and I thought we were good again last night, but only round 5. Way too early. One week at a time.Dal_Santos_Gal wrote:oh dear, come on guys, premierships are NOT won in April.
