Over here in SA they're saying we should expect up to 50mm of rain between Thursday and Saturday. Means it'll be pretty bloody wet Friday night. For this reason I think the only change to our side should be X in for Kosi. What does everyone else think?

Have we ever played these guys in dry fine weather?? Maybe not such a bad week for Kosi to miss then - yeah bring in X, he will love the wet conditions.

well i can remember at least 4 of the matches being wet affairs.....

hopefully theres an after match function for a quiet Pale Ale and a chance to say hi to some players.

Again brings up one of the two drawbacks of playing home games in a barn. Not used to wet weather. Still, I have faith we can turn them over as long as we play to the conditions...didn't we beat Shitney at the SCG in the wet a couple of years ago...the game Bally was using his head as a shield (waddaya mean not specific enough?)

I kind of agree. A win sends a very clear message that we are the biz, a loss steels us for a tilt at a supposed upper echelon side in WB's.

That said, with wins over to 0-4 sides, a loss to a side we belted by 100 pts and a near thing against the hot and cold Kanga's, I'm not really sure where the Dogs are at....

Nah. Scrap all that. Just tackle the sh-t out of those teal-backed tossers and nab the points of em for a change.

Our fear factor about travelling to scumland city(Adelaide) is behind us and I think the wet will suit us because Port dont like it physical ! They have a lot of young spindly bodies not yet up to the rigors of hard nut ,hard tackle footy as the Saints have showed this year. Commitment to the 50/50 ball and relentless pressure in the wet or dry have been our trademark and the boys wont want to let this factor slip...This is a game that will be won or lost by the Saints above the shoulders. We are still on the up and have miles of improvement to go....friday night will be just a small step on the path to Glory...Go Saints

The 50 mills is forecast at the moment over the Bight, 100's of K's from Adelaide.

From what I can see, Adelaide is only expecting max. 10 mills on Friday, so not that huge a dump.

Yes and no, IMO this is a must-win game and I'm sure Rossy would be pressing the point home again with the boys this week that they need to be able to rack up wins on the road if they are to match it with Geelong. There's also the 12-year "hoodoo" to break.

If they drop one at home, in a way it's not so bad. They need to wipe the slate clean with Port this Friday night.

biggest falicy in football that wet weather brings less skilled teams closer to more skilled teams. Definitely the other way , the beter skilled teams make less mistakes mainly handling errors in the wet and class players often dominste wet weather games as degree of difficulty high.

Expect McEvoy to be named for Kosi and X Begley and Eddy emergencies, with 1 to come in for the big if reallywet. Gwilt forward and either X or Begley to come in across half back.

Skill level's one thing, sure. But I'm not sure you can dispute the fact that a certain body type is better suited to wetter conditions.

They should refrain from bringing in Maguire this week because of the wet conditions. They need someone fast who can slide around with the ball and actually work with the weather- someone who can get to the ground to scoop up the footy.

What they don't need is another large backman who will most likely drop marks in the oppositions foward 50 because the ball is wet.
