Just how bad are Fremantle

Post: # 726093Post 3rd generation saint »

While it was nice to win, I got the distinct impression our guys were getting bored out there because Freo were just so bad to play.

I have seen some shocking teams in my time, including us during the 80's, but Freo is by far the worse.

I saw a team bereft of spirit, endeavour and with absolutely no desire.

There is just nothing there and right now they are my red hot favourites for the spoon.

They are absolutely terrible and it wasn't even a young side they fielded. Many experienced players there. You would think the only reason they wont finish bottom is because they must win a couple at home.

One of Freo's water guys was sitting directly in front of us (the one who fell flat on his back if anyone noticed) and he spent pretty much the entire game shaking his head in misery or disbelief or both. Almost felt sorry for him.

I will do Fremantle a favour and announce the de listing or pushed retirement of Chris Tarrant.

The filth must be laughing with that trade.

Freo were so bad that it was embarassing. It was a game that actually was demoralising to watch, and, maybe not the best for the Saints players...just too easy and dragged our skill and intensity down.
I was bored senseless, the only interest I had was how , not if, the Dockers were going to cough up the pill to us.

i enjoy watching that uber dud Mark HARVEY who wouldnt come to the rabble saints (thank god) squirm. The blokes absolutely got no idea - his players look deflated. Also, someone at Freo has got to do something about that friggin gay Viking love song they run out to - its embarrassing.

Club overhaul urgently needed.

I was actually worried about the effect playing such a shyte mob would have on our mindset for next week and this was as the 8min mark of qtr 1.

Theyre shyte.

Wouldnt gauge the win as a huge leap for mankind but they were more competetive than the wet coke eagles

Had the same feeling, they were so terrible.

I would have preferred a crap side like that to have actually had a decent crack at us and get us sharpened up for the next couple of games. A few times I thought their ability to turn the ball over was rubbing off on us a little...

That last quarter was like a stroll in a park. We seemed to have so much time to use the ball.

They really are lacking in quality players. Harvey explodes their structure two or three times a game (perhaps more). I don't know why they ever take Pavlich out of forward fifty. He always looked dangerous when he was there (well... as dangerous as Freo got tonight anyway). He was a total non-factor in the middle. I understand that they're about two deep in the middle (Hasleby, Schammer), but surely they can find a better option than putting their best forward on the ball.

It's not like they're playing a pile of kids either. There's Hill, Ibbotson, Palmer and Suban. The problem is the huge amount of duds that Harvey insists on playing every week. Bradley and Gilmore are woeful. I don't understand why a spoon contender is playing Solomon and Tarrant either. And how did Harvey work his head around dropping Duffield considering some of the guys he keeps playing? They don't seem to have any direction, and I don't think they ever have under Harvey.

And why did that club decide they didn't need Daniel Rich? It boggles the mind.

I nominate that the AFL should strip them of there license and give it to Tassie. They are a disgrace of a team. The Gold Coast will have more passion and history than this rabble, and that's saying something. 15 years and they have still generated nothing,no spirit,no culture, just a team of nothings running around. Pav needs to ask for a trade at years end

Couldn't give a fig how bad The Purple Pansies are.

I'm actually more concerned what affect playing such a poor side might

have on the playing group. Port are starting to play some decent footy.

I hope next week we are switched on from the first bounce otherwise we

might be the ones 5 goals down at quarter time.

I thought Pavlova was an Australian dish named after a russian ballerina.

Dockers

Post: # 726217Post happy feet »

Met a couple of Dockers supporters from Perth when they were visiting us at work. Good blokes they were and were not afraid to say how much they hated the WCEagles and Perth Media who were totally sucked in my the Eagles hysteria. I remember standing in the wet at the Gilbeys gin end of Moorabbin with barely a win or two each season. It sure is good to be winning games. We all should know how the Dockers fans are feeling at present, especially if you have been around for a while.

They should not have sacked Farmer !

At least with Farmer there we would have had someone to boo :D :D

They were as bad as we made them out to be compared with their game against the Hawks with prety much the same side the previous week
Not too many , perhaps the Cats & Dogs at present, could come back from our opening 5 goal blitz coupled with immense pressure applied when they did get the ball Pressure which was sustained for a good 80% of the game by the entire 22
They are obviously a better side than that but there's not much you can do when ther's 22 out there against you detirmined not to let you show it!

We kept them to four goals for the game. Don't underestimate that.

As bad as they are, we made them look a whole lot worse IMO.

This Freo side could easily have beaten Adelaide last week had they nailed a few simple set shots and were good for large periods against the Dogs and were OK against Essendon.

Yes, they're sh1t but to expect a 150 point win is asking for too much.

Actually I was extremely disappointed we allowed them to score at all, they were that bad.

It was so much like a praccy game that we lost intensity completely in the second quarter. Good that Lyon spotted that and got them back, We cannot afford to do that against Port on Friday.
