FAIR DINKUM!

What does X have to do to be even third emergency?

from saints.com.au:

St Kilda Football Manager Greg Hutchison said, “It would have been incredibly tough for us to omit anyone after what was a superb team effort against West Coast last week. We discussed our options at this afternoon’s match committee meeting and in the end decided to stick with the team that has started the season so well.

“Raph Clarke and Max Hudghton are probably still a week or so away with injury and Xavier Clarke is perhaps a little unlucky not to find his way into the team after some great performances for Sandringham. The competition for spots is extremely strong right now which is a great dilemma for the coaches to have.â€

Its good we have no injuries and need forced changes

we have still only used 23 players for the year

X Clarke and Maguire are close yet still not even in emergencies- good news really

X is extremely stiff. I would have him in the team before any of the interchange players.

In reality it will be best for Xavier to be playing another game and getting match toughness rather than sitting in the stands

given Sandy play at 1.10 pm saturday- prior to the Saints playing at 7.10

unfortunate that it happens that way and the three emergencies miss out on a game-

having said that; I will love seeing him back into the team and for long term

I think X would still be building match fitness...so why rush him?

The problem with this is that the emergencies like Begley, McEvoy and Eddy don't get the match fitness

While we keep winning it's going to be harder to get out of the side than into it.

It is very healthy that guys like xavier clarke, goose, leigh fisher and mcevoy continue to push hard for selection with good form for Sandringham.

there is also max and raph to come back in at some stage and youngsters like lynch pushing up.

you'd want to be earning your keep.

Yes they do mate - they still play in the 2's. If all 3 play in the afternoon - then we will know we go in unchanged.

I like it. Players being assessed and rewarded on the strength of their performance in the seniors and X not being promoted in their place. Make him hungry and really earn it.

Max & Raph should come thru Sandringham also!

Post: # 724970Post WinnersOnly »

Unless injuries occur IMO Max & Raph should come thru Sandringham also!
I sends a great message to whole football club that you need to be in form and able to sustain effort without breaking down before you make your way into the senior side...

Only one of them will not play for Sandringham.
If someone breaks down during the warm up before the St Kilda game he can come into the 22 fresh.
It will be the most versatile player, so either Begley or Eddy.
McEvoy would make the team top heavy.

thanks for clearing that up mate...

I do remember Eddy being mentioned as one of the best for Sandringham, did Begley and McEvoy play at all last week??

If one or both didn't, one hopes they both get a game for Sandi this week so that they get some match fitness in them, otherwise one or both will become less hardened to having a match under their belt

Sorry St Fidelius,
The Fremantle team was announced at 6:35 but you still had not posted it by 6:40 so I thought you were asleep at the keyboard.
