The question thats gotta be asked is

'who are the gold coast likely to go after?'

Who do you reakon would be the major targets of GC club?
Obviously Riewoldt - but who else do you reakon they'll be eyeing off?

Does anyone remember the interview Roo had when we played the Lions in our first Nab Cup game? from memory he said " I am very happy at St.Kilda and i have NO plans on moving to the Gold Coast".

i'm pretty sure he didn't put that much emphasis on the "no". He was playing down immediate speculations of him moving to GC in the near future, but he kept his options open for the time after that.

Roo will play 300 games for the St.Kilda football club, if we win a premiership or two with Roo and he is in his late 20's to early 30s i would trade him for some early draft picks to set up our future.

Believe me, The Gold Coast will target any decent player out of contract, ESPECIALLY QUEENSLANDERS.

Scott Clayton is the biggest assett Gold Coast have at the moment, very good recruiting man, responsible for a lage percentage of the Lions list that blitzed thru the early 00s

His parents would be cranky if he did. Aside from that fact his Dad follows St Kilda, they have just sold their house and shifted to Melb. His brother shifted to Melb 2 yrs ago. Why would they do that if he was coming back?

What garbage!

Every other club is just as much risk, if not more of losing a player to GC. Back in 2003, everyone was crying that in a few years we would lose one or two of our high draft pick players to one of the bigger clubs because of the money they would offer.

None of that happened. Its not just the money, the player will WANT to go before any deal is done.

Also, Lenny is from NSW, how come he hasn't been poached by the swans yet?

It doesn't matter at all what a players native state is, as to whether he moves or not.

So relax people....jeez.

Armo's from Mackay(only 1000 km's North of the Gold Coast)..played all his jnr footy for Eastern Swans before heading to Brissie (Morningside FC, I think)

I do know of one of our players who wants to come up here, my source is checking to see if he still feels the same way. Its not Roo or any of the Qld boys, though he did live here for a while.
