Coxs mobility a real worry IMO, both of our ruckman older and less mobile. perhaps give one a rest and play Kosi in the ruck????
Ball to run head to head with Kerr and no mid field tags, we shoud win the stoppages and provide good supply. I expect us to win and win well if we keep up the kind of preassure we have over the last 2 weeks.
Another monster in Lynch for Zac to play on. Blake will get hanson and the rest of their forward line is not overly big from memory.

Give Kerr and Cox a hard tag and their midfield falls to pieces.
Baker on LeCras is our best bet but he will still probably kick 3 or 4.
Dawson on Lynch is a good matchup for us IMO, yes he is another monster forward who can throw Zac about but he actually gets most of his ball from leading.
If we keep up our relentless pressure it will be a 30 point minimum win. They faded away big time last week against the lions, we should be able to grind them down and then run away with it.

I reckon Eagles are under rated. Quick generally plus Cox, Kerr, Lecras and that insufferable Q-stick knob who slaughtered us last time around. Max - if fit - has to take him. He's too big for Zac Dawson.
Real test for us after two very physical, draining games and this yearore than any other I rckon if you are off your A game a fraction you'll get done over.
I hope Rd 20 last year still burns.
Of course we CAN win. I just reckon it'll be a bit of challenge; more of one than people think.

Gilbert can play on their smalls but of course Baker is quality too - hopefully no rib issues.
You do worry about some of these huge guys up forward for them but if no supply = no goals.
If we don't win, we are dreamin' about being challengers this year but should.

I f we don't beat WC at home we are pretenders. Good teams don't come off good victories just to cough up the advantages they've given themselves. WC will not be playing finals this year, despite their game against Port today. Away from Subi they're a different beast. If we don't win by 5+ goals, we haven't played to our potential. If we don't win at all, the sharks will smell the blood in the water and it could be a very long season.

jeez, a 6 day break coming over from Perth wont be great for the eagles, I can't see them backing up today's performance...

hmmm....logic would suggest we will kill them, with an extra 2 days break on them plus about 3 hours less flying.Armoooo wrote:jeez, a 6 day break coming over from Perth wont be great for the eagles, I can't see them backing up today's performance...
BUT......bloody home ground disadvantage against an interstate team!
I'm glad they smashed Port - it should get rid of any possible complacency that any player may have had.
Whilst we killed off Sydney, we struggle against a few interstate teams at the Dome, and the Eagles could be a danger if we're not switched on.
If we are, and play full throttle footy, they will be gone.

young kids = underdeveloped bodies = smash their friggin faces into the turf like what we did to all those "kids" that played for Adelaide.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:i think we should expect a tough game much like last week...
a bunch of young kids pls kerr and cox are going to throw up super peformances and average ones in short spaces of times
Controlled aggression at the ball and the tackle - just like 2004!

its a very exciting prospect...our agro and aggression was that of circa 2004 when we created this modern wanky 'unsociable football'...saintspremiers wrote:young kids = underdeveloped bodies = smash their friggin faces into the turf like what we did to all those "kids" that played for Adelaide.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:i think we should expect a tough game much like last week...

it was the aggression on the ball that has been missing for so long...the agro i.e. with mg getting maric fired up...got 50 bang goalBernard Shakey wrote:I didn't notice agro and aggression, just honest attack at the ball, which after all, is what the game is all about.

Glad the Eagles won as it means that we get another opportunity to see where we are at. Cox was great today and Kerr only played one half but still got 30 odd touches and at one stage had 4 goals from 8 kicks!
Port didn't turn up today and Eagles had a lot to prove. they will test us but if we get our structures right i think our mids are superior to theirs and we will win. Go Saints!
