did cj only get him from the second quarter? according to the age and champion data:
McVeigh: 7, 3, 3, 3 = 16 disposals
so if that's the case then you've got a point, kept him to nine touches in three quarters of footy. once again, i'd keep him in the team because he does a job.

I think RL has defined a new role for him - Tagger
He tagged Neon Leon in the Final last season and did a great job on him as well.
McVeigh did a lot of damage in the first quarter (I don't know who was on him?) but CJ certainly locked him down after qtr time and was probably 'line ball' with him on stats (although McVeigh's disposals are probably more damaging).

CJ was benched for 10 mins or so in the 3rd and McVeigh started getting some footy..but his new opponent Ray was hurting them too
CJ was back on him in the last qtr
I'm CJ's greatest critic on this forum, but I reckon that the club would be mad to drop him against the Swans.
If, as seems likely, Lenny comes in for Raph, then the question will be whether X should also be brought in for someone. This could surely only be one of Gwilt, Geary, Jones or McQualter.
Gwilt, like Raph, is a medium-sized defender/half forward. If he is dropped for a midfielder, then we are down two medium-sized players on our lineup against the Swans. I can't see Ross doing that. If he wasn't happy with Gwilt's performance on Saturday, he will surely give Begley a run in his place.
So that leaves one of Geary, Jones or McQualter to go for X. In which case, it simply has to be Geary: sad, but there isn't any other choice, except perhaps to leave X in the twos for another week.

Mad to drop Gwilt as he has a strong body for a middle-size player and I think will suit the AAMI stadium size ground with his long kicking (one of the few in our team who can penetrate with kicking) - He needs to be settled in the forward line or around the middle. CJ is performing a good tagging function in the team and will hold his place. I probably wouldn't change the team apart form injury reasons. Against Adelaide we need one more running, fast player to replace R.Clarke.

I prefer to try to judge the players on what I see of them. On that basis, I think the jury is still out on Geary. He was good in the NAB cup game, and a bit disappointing last night: although he did a few ok things.
.
took a nice mark under a fair bit of pressure
.everybody still loves lenny....and we always will

Surely the player first in line to get dropped would be Geary (and I'm a fan) but I think he is worth keeping in there.
His tackling was great he just seemed a bit lost but hopefully that can be turned around with some more experience. He still has a huge upside.
Assuming Raph is out I would bring in Hayes (if fit).
I'm not sure I would make any other changes... If Raph is out and Lenny still isn't ready the spot should go to Robert Eddy or Leigh Fisher. Both are great runners and if you're going to beat Adelaide you have to bring your running shoes...

loathe to drop a player after winning a game. Sends a pretty poor message to the team and the young players.
Did anybody play poorly after qtr time? Or should I say poorly enough to be dropped?
Lenny is a must in.
Do we drop Geary for X? Dont think so.
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)
Apart from Raph I would not make any changes. 1 game does not make or break a season and every player deserves more than 1 game to show something- especially after a win. Geary i think is there for pressure, run and tackling which he did.
I would not be surprised to see Dal and Milne out this week and possibly longer with the knee injuries.
Obviously if Hayes is fit he comes in , otherwise is going like for like you will be looking at Begley most probably.
Adelaide play a zone , a cross between sydeney and Hawthorn therefore we need speed and good users of the ball.
X Clarke has been mentioned , but to me very overrated and needs to earn a spot not just be given one

we want to improve and part of that is criticism???
'[Geary] looks like a nothing player' is hardly constructive criticism. Personally, I think he's shown a lot of promise over the last month or so. He deserved his spot in the side Saturday night based on his preseason performances. I wouldn't be shocked at all if he plays again on Friday night.
He made some mistakes. 20-year olds in their 11th game tend to do that.
I would be pretty sure with RL track record that there will be only one change and that is the obvious one with Clarke out and Hayes. Dont think X is close as he played a full game on Sunday even though there would only be a 5 day break if he played. Begley was rested in the last quarter yesterday so he is probably the only other change being considered.

Hammer - nail - head.
The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

This government sets the contract for the number of trains to run. Connex will run extra trains but the government has to pay for these extra trains.
This government has not got the brains to realise that when St Kilda plays home games at Jihad Stadium and only for St Kilda home games, half the attendance will be needing to catch trains to the south east of Melbourne - Dandenong (Pakenham & Cranbourne), Frankston (Stony Point) and Sandringham lines.
Extra trains required ONLY on the day of St Kilda home games only on these lines and only to suit the finishing time of the game.
Also additional No 96 trams needed.
No point counting customers on a Saturday night to decide how many trams to run to St Kilda on Saturdays evenings when the following Saturday it is an Essendon home game.
The passengers will want to go in a different direction.

Possibility that Raph will be available. That being the case, according to some experts on here, we dont drop anyone. Lenny misses out... Not bloody likely.
Geary's decision making was suspect and brought us undone a couple of times.
He is the "WEAKEST LINK". His attack and endeavour can't be questioned but seriously taking on BH in front of goal was a no brainer. Is Geary a one sided player? At times he gets caught badly and seems unable to dispose of it properly.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
I'm loathe to drop kids after one game, but if X has played a blinder has reported (in a team who knocked off the reigning VFL Premiers btw) then he's an automatic in, His run and carry will be vital at AAMI...and unfort Geary is the only possible omission.
whats Milnie record inteterstate overall
i Like milnie i played with him at Doveton footy Club and HSD cricket club
but he struggles when we play interstate. I know he showed great courage last year against Freo
