Saw first 3 quarters.
Steven hurt his ankle in the first quarter and did not come back.
X was brilliant.
Goose looks like he needs another half dozen games for Sandy, before being considered.
Eddy was good.
Macca looks like he will be a player. Still lumbering and slow though.

I wouldn't say crap, but ordinary.sainter2631 wrote:so does that mean he played crap?Bernard Shakey wrote: Goose looks like he needs another half dozen games for Sandy, before being considered.

He needs to get game time under his belt. Looks keen, but the body doesn't seem to want to obey.

I reckon Goose is stuffed and will have limited impact this year.
Pencil the poor bugger in for a delisting at seasons end unfortunately.
Likely sad end to what could've been a brilliant player.

My worry for Maguire started before he did his leg tbh.
His lack of mobility (see Gilbert) in todays game when big lumbering chf's are gone laves me thinking CHB is a tough ask....where to next?...you couldnt play him at FB.....imagine a Buddy? or even Fev?
Id love him to get back - for his sake but even IF the leg heals look at N Browne.....stilljust showing glimpses of what he was.
Going to be tough for Goose Im afraid.

i agree,,,sadly
i luv the big guy and miss him out there.
but the game has gotten quicker very quickly since he has been out
big effort for him to catch up...
hopefully he proves us doubters wrong and comes back blazing
good to hear X is running around and getting plenty of it.
gonna be a contest to get a spot soon......and thats good.

I think the clubs doing that.Spinner wrote:This bloke broke his leg playing for our club.....Give him all the time he needs, weather it be another year or two.
1. His potential and previous form warrants it.
2. He has suffered playing for this club.
As I said my issues were with Maguire's footy BEFORE he broke his leg (he was just going prior to and many forget that).

Could not agree more, many do forget, the longer a player is injured, the better he often gets....Teflon wrote:I think the clubs doing that.Spinner wrote:This bloke broke his leg playing for our club.....Give him all the time he needs, weather it be another year or two.

Opposite analogy for the Clarke brothers on this site.maverick wrote:Could not agree more, many do forget, the longer a player is injured, the better he often gets....Teflon wrote:I think the clubs doing that.Spinner wrote:This bloke broke his leg playing for our club.....Give him all the time he needs, weather it be another year or two.

Opposite analogy for Michael Gardiner.
I think he was a quality player at the time.

Fair enough your views but I recall him close to being relegated for a spell in the two's cause his drought of decent games had stretched for so long.Spinner wrote:Opposite analogy for the Clarke brothers on this site.maverick wrote:Could not agree more, many do forget, the longer a player is injured, the better he often gets....Teflon wrote:I think the clubs doing that.Spinner wrote:This bloke broke his leg playing for our club.....Give him all the time he needs, weather it be another year or two.

he looked great early on in his career when he could run (straight line) and roost the footy to big fwds in G, Hamill Roo etc and occasionally an outside 50 goal......today IMO speed, flexibility (again in the R Clarke/Gilbert mould) with the ability to hit targets is critical.
