Yes we won, but look at the game we were 27 points down at the 1st qtr, got our game going, got 42 points up half way through the last qtr and only won by 15. Yes a win is a win but we have a long way to go and if you are happy with that good luck to you. A good side starts well and finishes well, we didn't do either tonite.
It is not being critical it is an observation and not a whinge but a fact....... It is the first game of the season but we need to be up and running because other sides are.

Can't believe some of the negativity toward the end of this thread.
Raph didn't play the last half so we were down to three on the bench, then Roo came off not to return, and Rossy rested Kosi and Gardiner.
Not to mention the tackling and defensive pressure throughout qtrs 2 & 3 was nothing short of excellent.
So the swans kicked a few goals in junk time... I can live with that.
Criticise them all you like for their 1st quarter efforts, but beyond that, sheesh some people are hard to please. A very comfortable win from where we were at quarter time... how bout some credit for digging in.

To be honest I put up a negative post before quarter time & even now as happy as I am they got it together & won , I dont know how a side at this level can go missing for an entire first quater then turn it around & be in total control & with 10 minutes to go lose focus & almost let them back in the game. Dont get me wrong whatever they did at quatertime was nothing short of miraculous , I guess I just dont understand the way football is played these days, I must be getting old.I apologise for the spelling & grammerLennon wrote:Why do people insist on coming on here with the game half over to pot the team?
Would these people please set their computers on fire?

A bit reminiscent of the Gold Coast game last year against NM?ohwhenthesaints! wrote:We won, we won, we won!
I would like to highlight just how quickly people were jumping off (see page 1 of this thread)
Sure we started slow, but we finished well and also safe guarded our assets when we had the win in the bag.
Well done boys!
Some people are optimists, others are pessimists.
Unfortuntaley when we are not playing well teh pessimists seem to cmoe out and post (almost gleefully).
For myself I much prefer to read the optimists posts.

Not sure if we are a good side yet...but we have the 4 points.backit wrote:Yes we won, but look at the game we were 27 points down at the 1st qtr, got our game going, got 42 points up half way through the last qtr and only won by 15. On your logic are Geelong a good side? They did similar in terms of lead given up last night, even worse in fact...

They got the jump on us...
We responded and when we managed to play on our terms, we wiped the floor with them.
Not sure what people are on about. I'd be more worried is I was Roos TBH. Boy they dished up some crap.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.
if anyone actually follows the game this opening weekend they will see that most players who have not had 4 full gmes behind them will struggle in the final term. Add to the fact that we had two ft players on the bench with one a ruckman it's no wonder we dropped off. But when the game was there to be won we smashed them.
Work in progress but the way people go on. Sheesh!
