Good to see the names get some run in their legs.....but Richmond were very weak.

Great for confidence though.

All those who still think Goddard should be no where near the goals say "I"

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Schultz kicked 4 for the Tigers as well. BJ can rest forward but cannot play deep in the forward line. By the way the Tigers had half their side out so it will get much harder than tonight.

But St Kilda coach Ross Lyon was not totally content, walking away frustrated that that so many forward entries didn't lead to a bigger margin.

"There's some concerns on efficiency," Lyon said.
Yup...66 inside 50's to 25 I believe..should have slaughtered them

Oh...and 28 more handpasses than kicks

So out of interest where exactly did BJ play tonight???

I mean it would be real shock horror to have a mid capable of kicking goals.....

Gilbert & Gwilt started forward with Dal HFF. BJ started wing but had plenty of time in the midfield. Ditto Gram. BJ ended up kicking 4 and is dangerous as a marking forward in a contest.

X played half back and was very good. Most impressive return, he looks in good knick, had some solid dashes off half back and gave us that clean option coming from defence, Also kicked a classy goal. I think on what we saw tonight, he can regularly find a spot in our best 22 in a quarterback role.

Mini missed 2 set shots for goal that you'd consider kickable as an AFL player. Both lacked penetration. As he dosent have a lot of pace its hard for him to find a spot. . CJ was also quiet. The midfield spread was quiet deep with grammy and BJ running through the middle, Armo won plenty of the ball but was dogged by poor early disposal. Bally in good form.

The story of the night for mine was the performance by X. I think the club should be excited by his game. It only shores up the backline further. He provides plenty of carry options through the middle. Were others impressed with his return ?

Best news in a couple of years. Nice to see us kick some goals too. How was the kicking to men in the field? (Given up on goal kicking.)

And we can only pray to the gods that Luke Ball has just the slightest luck with injury this year. He could still be AFL top 3. Steps in, takes the ball and gives it out - looks simple when someone brilliant does it.

Gee thats good to hear.

This guy is so misunderstood as a player IMO - people just have not and do not understand his skills and what he could be.

WHEN he did get a run free from injury NO ONE talked about St Kilda as lacking dash - he added that mercurial touch out of the middle and just maybe now off a HBF. Do hope he can string a solid year together.

We need to temper this against the quality of opposition...but just good for the confidence I guess.

How did Zac Dawson go after his much improved game agasint the Doggies?

How was the game as a spectacle..was the over-use of handpass totally frustrating?

What in your opinion was the main reason our entries into 50 per goal were so inefficient?

St Kilda defeated Richmond 109-57 in their pre-season match in Shepparton
By Sam Saracino
March 06, 2009 Richmond's Graham Polak made a successful comeback to AFL in the Tigers 52-point loss to St Kilda at Deakin Reserve in Shepparton on Friday night.

Polak sat out the first half before coming off the bench to play a large part of the second half in the Tigers' 16.13 (109) to 9.3 (57) loss.

He finished with six possessions, five of them coming in the last quarter on the wing.

Acting coach David King said the club was thrilled for Polak to get through his first competitive match since sustaining a serious head injury when hit by a tram last June.

“We are thrilled for him that he got through the game,â€

great to hear about ball and x... they are two reasons why we looked so exciting back in 2004 before injuries struck them down.

x playing at half back will allow gram and BJ to play midfield.

BJ is a god damn exciting goal kicking machines when allowed to drift forward.

Was a strange crowd, not really into the game...

I am not carried away as the tigers was under-manned.

However, BJ was awesome, and some of the ruckwork tonight was A+.
No.15 was moving the best I have seen him at the Saints.

Milne was good, as was Gilbo. Who ads a new dimension to the forward line.

Lenny started getting into the game. Armo did enough as did Ray.
Really happy with X.
