Intra-Club game....CONFIRMED....5.00pm !!
Well Team !!
After reading all the posts of all the excited people about when & where the Intra-Club game will be played, and what the capacity of the ground will be, and what facilities will be available, I DECIDED TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH ON YOUR BEHALF
I put a question in to "Ask Archie" that he normally answers on Fridays
The Intra-Club game will be at Moorabbin at 5.00PM on Friday 6 Feb 2009. The capacity of Moorabbin for this historical event will be Enough room for everybody There will be ??????????? Food & Beveridge outlets operating on the day/night. (Still being worked out) At the conclusion of the game the following agrrangements will be in place for the fans i's still being dotted and t's still being crossed
THE MEMBERSHIP & MERCHANDISE people hope to be working up a decent lather of sweat from OVER-WORK before, during & after the game (I threw that one in)
I will fill in the gaps as soon as I hear from our fearless leader !!
THE GREAT JOCKANESE WARRIOR HAS RESPONDED !!

It has been stated already that it's at Moorabbin!iwantmeseats wrote:I thought I have seen several posts from answers from archie clearly stating it will be at moorabbin. Frankly, the way im feeling im alot less inclined to bother if its anywhere but moorabbin. Just one last time.
It's only the time of the match that is in question.
And just to reconfirm this, I emailed Archie about the 6th of Feb a few days ago and his reply on my brothers taking my father to the intraclub match was this......
So to me the mention of a great night, indicates that it maybe later than 5pm...Jeff,
Good to hear I am sure it will be a great night;
we are all looking forward to seeing a few of the new lads in a Saints jumper for the first time.
Cheers
Archie

Interesting to see what the ground capacity will be if they're pulling the stands down.
I remember last year the Bulldogs were re-doing Whitten Oval and didn't allow the public in for their intra-club match based on OHS reasons.
Wouldn't surprise me if we did the same.

5pm is lousy for those who work on Fridays.. i really don't know how they're going to fit the numbers in when the stands are looking the way they are. Plus parking is always an issue, especially as it appears road works will be underway close by.
Looks like it could prevent me from going.

AF has confirmed 5pm as posters have also stated - we have worked out it would be due to the light, and sun still high in the sky that 5pm was chosen. Parking would be first in best dressed I guess at the northern end grassed section off Linton St.milney044 wrote:5pm is lousy for those who work on Fridays.. i really don't know how they're going to fit the numbers in when the stands are looking the way they are. Not sure how we can have it any later than 5pm to be honest
2 years ago they delayed it but shortened the game due to heat.
If it started at 6 it wold probably be a shorter duration..then other people will grizzle
With pretty much no lighting the options are limited

I'm sure you will think up some way of "stretching the truth" so that your boss won't know why you can't work on that particular night. Tell him you have a driving lesson, that's what lulel.26 is telling his boss !!milney044 wrote:5pm is lousy for those who work on Fridays.. i really don't know how they're going to fit the numbers in when the stands are looking the way they are. Us fans might have to endure some slight inconvenience on the night, but we WILL be able to say that we were there on this historic occasion !!
