Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!
Grant has an interesting history with Hutchy and Caroline to say the least. True to the show’s philosophy of ‘no room for the feint-hearted’, I think Grant will thrive in this robust environment and viewers can expect more of the skirmishes that have become the show’s trademark.â€

I agree, GT possible attack on carro (GT demise at the Age) with Hutch would be good viewing...iwantmeseats wrote:reat move, im really looking foward to it! I like Archer, but it just wasnt a vehicle that suits him. GT will eat it up. Bring it on.
One would expect a pay increase in Carro's pay to continue would be on the agenda IMO....
But yes, it would be interesting just to see how it evolves

You are either optimistic beyond reproach.. or a fool to believe so.Enrico_Misso wrote:I just hope that after 2+ years anycriticism he makes of the club is no longer news simply because he made it.

Hopefully, there won't be too many of those. Thing is that he's been gone for 2 years... the list has turned over, and there is a new admin. So I doubt that apart from his own era... he wouldn't have too much inside info to share. And if he has and it's coming from the players... then we're farked.bigcarl wrote:channel 9Snakeman66 wrote:bigcarl wrote:that will make it worth watching. he seems to polarise people, gt, and, love him or hate him, he always has something to say. good move by channel 7
i might actually watch it this year. always interested in gt's views, particularly on st kilda.

it's all a big conspiracy with GT at the centre of itWayneJudson42 wrote:he wouldn't have too much inside info to share. And if he has and it's coming from the players... then we're farked.
i'm merely interested in his thoughts as a st kilda man, in much the same way as i'll listen to anyone on here.

no conspiracy theories, Big C. I just wonder why his opinion would be valued now above other media people?bigcarl wrote:it's all a big conspiracy with GT at the centre of itWayneJudson42 wrote:he wouldn't have too much inside info to share. He can only call it as he sees it as would anyone else. I tend to prefer to listen to Lyon's (Gary) views TBH.
Sure he coached us, and like anyone else, he'll have his views. But the world (in most part) has moved on.

Wil he be making some "comments to advantage"?saintspremiers wrote:but at least come next year we can all laugh at his expense as he no longer is destroying our club eh?saintsRrising wrote:I wonder if they will chase a good ruckman for the panel now....
No doubt his belief clouds will be strong.
Credit where it's due... he's managed to brand himself sufficiently to advance his media career... allbeit at the club's expense at times with his controversial statments.
MY personal view is that he holds zero cred to argue with Caro because for years he lied about his appointment "process" and Caro knew all along.

The thing is that Gary Lyon is the straight man, and they need a stooge for ratings. I odubt any of the above would be "controversial" enough to do the job.Mr Magic wrote:Interesting that they've gone for an ex-coach panellist. Once having made the decision to replace Archer I wonder if GT was their first choice replacement?
Which ex-coaches are around that could have been a panellist?
Sheedy
Pagan
Matthews (gone to 7 or 10?)
Robert Shaw

Or given the history between Caro and GT, as well as the apparent closeness between Hutchy and Butters (as alleged so often on here), have the Producers chosen the person they can guarantee will be involved in 'controversy' with some/all of the other panellists?WayneJudson42 wrote:The thing is that Gary Lyon is the straight man, and they need a stooge for ratings. Look to be 100% serious for a bit.....in this media role GT will be vast improvement on Archer.
Archer was a fish out of water who struggled to even get a word in at times, let alone make any reasonable contributions and who was clearly no capable of fufilling the role. He is 100% genuine bloke...buta media type he is not.
Love him or hate him GT will at least be capable of making reasonable contributions even if one does not agree 100% at times.
No doubt the network is beinga bit mischevious though in having Caro, GT and Hutchy all on the one panel.... no doubt they are hoping for fireworks. However that may well backfire as "forced" situations rarely work well.

Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Exactly right...you get the distinct impression with that show sometimes that the "arguments" turn to smiles and laughter as soon as an ad break starts (with one notable exception) Quiet introspective intelligent discussion makes for (apparently) boring TV. Never stopped me watching Talking Footy thoughWayneJudson42 wrote:The thing is that Gary Lyon is the straight man, and they need a stooge for ratings.
