i never said cj could kick i just wanted to know how good tommy walsh could kick compared to cj
CJ looks like Judd compared to Tom.
Tom and a Trainer were 25m apart and the trainer said "kick it to me" it went about 2m above his head and 10m past him...horrible kick. but as they just did chip kicks to each other it slowly got better but still a very poor kick, can barely drop punt, it just flops off the side of his boot and sometimes hits the hands of the trainer.
First week and he has got boots on and the boot is making contact with the ball.

It is extremely easy to kick a round ball, you don't have to worry about the ball's orientation, you only need to hit it in the middle.
It is much harder to control it's flight due to spin and airflow.

The oval ball is much harder to kick, it must be dropped so that it hits the foot in the perfect orientation.
That is a skill that comes with time and practice.
The backward rotation of a drop punt stabilises the ball's flight because air flow patterns are reversed every half rotation.

Brad Howard was training and looks to be alot bigger across the shoulders. He will be a rookie at best as he has been delisted off the main list, so won't be able to play a senior game unless elevated during year.
It ain't necessarily so.
This year St Kilda has 38 senior players and 1 veteran not on the senior list (Max Hudghton)
A club is allowed to have 40 players who are eligible for match selection.

That means St Kilda is allowed one "nominated rookie".
A nominated rookie remains a rookie on a rookie's base pay but does get any senior match payments - I think $2,700 per match.

Both Dempster and Allen seem to already be qualifying for "long term injured".
So if a rookie is required to play they can be temporarily promoted to the senior list (for the duration of the long term injury).
Temporarily promoted rookies can be selected.
They get minimum senior players pay (not counted against salary cap) plus match payments whilst on temporary promotion.
The injured player does not get match payments.

Who can we have as a nominated rookie? I take it to be one off the rookie list, not someone especially pick up as a "nominated rookie".

ralphy no we can't, but by the sound of it he needs a year to slowly learn the game before we think about rookie him.
