He's gonna say that he hopes the team starts the year off on a better note so that they put too much pressure on themslves for the run home to finals. He's happy with the kids that the club has recruited and is disappointed that Allen has had a setback. Ball, Magiure and Baker are looking good at this time of the year and he's happy wiith the new assistants that have come in. It's also gonna be strange not having Harvey play for them next year

Listened to Ross Lyon on 3AW tonight.
Key points made :
1. Baker will be 100% to play a full season next year
2. Dissapointed with result in Prelim against Hawks but we had 2 B & F Winners in Ball and Baker out which hurt
3. Armitage will play 18 plus games next year (after 11 last year including finals - included ahead of Birss in finals)
4. Wants to give new recruits from last year and this draft as much game time over next 3 to 4 years as senior players i.e Riewoldt will be 29 to 30 by then
5. Cousens - No comment as to why we didn't take him only that his health is the main priority (that tells you something???)

Wonder what that means?Saintsime wrote: 4. Wants to give new recruits from last year and this draft as much game time over next 3 to 4 years as senior players i.e Riewoldt will be 29 to 30 by then
Does this mean that they will play if they're fit? Or if there's a spot and they're fit? Or if they're playing well, there's a spot, and they're fit?
I'm sure he wanted to give them all "as much game time" last year too. And the year before. But we didn't.

Main points from SEN this morning.saintly wrote:anyone listen to the SEN interview this morning?
1. Membership number so far are healthy
2. Age the main reason for not recruiting Carroll
3. Same comments on Cousins as 3AW interview
4. Is hoping Matt Maguire will play a fair bit of footy in 09 (arent we all?)
He also said that he's been studying our age demographic of our list.....we have 13-14 who would be serious competitors in September with the oldest of those being Riewoldt....."if you take out Hayes and Milne".
Thought it was a weird comment.

Poster formerly known as SENsaintsational. More wisdom. More knowledge. Less name.
Translation.."Wont play Round 1"...compare "a fair bit of footy" to how upbeat he was about BakesFortiusQuoFidelius wrote:Main points from SEN this morning.saintly wrote:anyone listen to the SEN interview this morning?
