Time on in Linton St oval wrangle

MOORABBIN Reserve is deserted as Kingston Council and St Kilda Football Club continue to squabble over its future.
In November last year, building consultants advised it would be cheaper to demolish the grandstand for $1.5 million than repair it.
Both parties agreed this was the best solution for the Linton St oval.
A year later, as the Saints prepare to move to Frankston, the dilapidated grandstand is being ignored.
The council claims that under a lease expiring in 2040, it is St Kilda’s responsibility to maintain all grounds and buildings within Moorabbin Reserve.
As part of the State Government’s Victorian AFL Club Facilities Program, Sport and Recreation Minister James Merlino said St Kilda was given $500,000 to help demolish the grandstand.
“Part of the program was to open up Moorabbin Reserve for community access, which would include the removal of the grandstand,â€

Don't dwell on the past.
Look to the future.

Topsy whatever her last name is should be bent over the railings at the Moorabbin grandstand and given a good old whack!
WHY are the council behaving like sooks?
They've got half a mil towards getting rid of the mess, and are still sooking.
Pathetic really.

That Casey Fields stuff up reminds me of my invention of having one spray unit where you flick a nozzle between fertilizer and weedkiller.
The idea was to show silliness in marketing. Fraught with danger of choosing the wrong nozzle and killing all your plants.
I guess I have proof now!!!

or would the council claim it?

Yes! I certainly would pay money for the seats we used from 65 till the last game at the ole girl. In fact, there would have to be SOME money to be made by selling old sets to members as memorabilia type pf the deal. It would be negligent just to trash the stands and not even try it, easy money! Not everyone would be interested, but surely a number making it worthwhile would? maybe not, I dunno. Who gets the cash is of the course the other question, as mentioned.saintbrat wrote:If parts of the stand were sold- who gets the profit- Saints or council?
