Mate I did not ask for your Resume but I am sure you enjoyed sharing it....couldn't give a f*** if you were Kevin Rudd......fact is you have bagged others who are probably proud of their careers (even ones who reached the top) - which probably makes you an arrogant c***.....

....suppose we cannot all be Richard Bransdon
Big Mart you could have informed me the initial question was rhetorical :?

F’s & C’s and Kevin Rudd & Richard Branson (without the ‘d’) your reply is quite ambiguous and filled with anger. Why would a simple response on an internet footy forum earn such an emotive response?

Would you feel better if I write that I am actually a middle aged dole bludger living with my elderly parents?
BigMart wrote: Do you not have respect for school teachers.....are they not important?????
I have great respect for good teachers and little respect for teachers like Karen Ellis and Gavin Hopper et al. My experience with my kid’s school teachers has been largely positive.

I think teachers along with Nurses, Child Care and Aged Care workers are amongst the most under paid and under valued professions in our society. Why do we under pay those who care for our sick elderly and children?

In fact my eldest daughter wishes to become a teacher.
BigMart wrote: ......many would say teaching is a noble profession - especially the running around playing sport all day (well from 9-3) and having some free periods off.....all for minimum wage

But thats OK.....I will tell you why.....

Meet my wife
Dr Martin

Life is good my friend
Why on earth did you write this?
I didn’t ask for your life story and quite frankly am bewildered you have chosen to display this on a public forum.

Is this meant to impress me? Let’s face facts if you are trying to imply you are wealthy because your wife is a doctor we both know she’d need to be a specialist to pull in decent coin.

Now I will be impressed if you tell me she is Dr Martin the manufacturer of quality footwear.

At least you seem to be a modern enough gentleman to not be emasculated by marrying the family’s bread winner.

I didn’t need to know life was good BigMart, but I am happy for you.
BigMart wrote:Joffa you sound like Dermott Brereton....... Will call you 'I am Legend'...... :
BigMart wrote:

Oh, and I go OK at sport - but I won't list my achievements, only an ars*hole would do that
For someone who refuses to list his achievements you seem pretty keen to share your life story Big Mart.

Who is sounding like Dermott Brereton BigMart?

Now back on topic Big Mart...you failed to answer these questions....
Joffa Burns wrote:When did Fiora reach the top of his profession?

Did he play in a premiership team?
How many AA selections or nominations?
When was he ever consistently in the best 8 or 10 at his club?
Did he play in state games when they were played?

He certainly played at the highest level and at times acquitted himself well and at times not so well, but I don’t ever recall him reaching the top of his profession.
I also wrote this....do you care to comment on what you see as the inaccuracies?
Joffa Burns wrote:FWIW I think Fiora underachieved in his career for his natural god given footy talents as he had ball winning ability, speed, good hands, penetrating kick and is an exceptional mark for his size. I believe that his underachievement was due to a lack of aggression in his play and a lack of willingness for the contest.

I think he worked hard to overcome this and when he was switched on and focussed he put himself on the line but when his concentration lapsed he fell back into his old ways of taking the easy option.

Congratulations for Fiora for playing 140 games of AFL footy but IMO he never fulfilled his potential.
Enlighten me

As much as I despised Libba as a player, he is my most admired AFL footballer as he got 100% out of himself. He was short, slow and could barely kick but had an appetite for the contest as was prepared to scratch, bite and do anything his coach said to get a game.

Put Libba’s heart in Fiora and he’d play 350+ games.

On an AFL parlance Fiora is rightfully considered soft and it stood out like dogs testicles in the Prelim, and it has prematurely ended his career IMO. St Kilda made the right decision in this instance. Yes he played 140 more games than me, and congratulations to Aaron as according to St Mart he is well hung (as is it hanged?) but bottom line is his lack of hardness (are the two connected, pardon the pun) cost him his place on the list..

this is one of the best threads ever. Some good viscious stuff here, well worthy of an internet forum.

This is how every thread should be.

Further improvements, mods: allow more personal invective that involves obscenities and threats.

The ratings will go up, you will get advertising and have no more financial problems.

The footy analysis is only readable if there is the good old thumbs up and thumbs down of the Colosseum involved.

In this thread we have established that Fiora was not a very good footballer but has such a large appendage that he should be given another one year contract.

Much like the great man John Holmes... Fiora could never be "hard" because the lack of blood in his brain would make him pass out.

Don't back peddle now mate.....don't shy away from your comments.....

I asked a simple question Joffa - in reference to Fiora having made it, and you having a dig at him....

You replied with your resume when a simple Yes may have sufficed (but that's OK, your perogative to big note youself), but not only that, you attempted to have a crack at me about being a school treacher 'on minimum wage' as you put it....as if I am not worthy of your greatness......that is where you came off as an arrogant prick......and you know it...which is why you

then you try to back-track and quote sections of my reply and pulll it apart in a feeble attempt to deflect your....well, bagging of teachers (no big deal to me, just funny you would stoop to that rubbish) but I suppose one who sprouts their so-called success on an anonymous forum has issues....and BTW I could not give a rats what you daughter wants to be, how does that even enter this......

FWIW - I don't believe I am that underpaid..money does not interest me...I have 12 weeks holiday a year......and I am NOT AFRAID to say I am a kept man, by my lovely wife - who happens to be smarter than a simple PE teacher.....so as I said - Life is good......oh, that's right, you did not want my life story-----but told me that you were INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TYCOON....(good luck with the current econonic climate)

Back to Fiora

He played AFL footy at the elite level for 10 years....so he made it to the top IMO....he made the big league.....Just like you my friend....

Hang on, is your company a fortune 500 company....it better be   or you haven't done s***....just like Fiora...By your measure.......

me I am just happy earning minimum wage - with my non - specialist but supporting wife (robbing me of my dignity) by giving me an allowance even though she earns peanut (as Dr's do right??)....and supporting the saints....

Gwyneth isn't a doctor??

Back peddle??? Get a grip or perhaps loosen your grip BIG Mart.

Had a dig at Fiora? I detailed my reasons on why I thought Fiora was delisted on a Saints footy forum.
I asked you if you would care to respond or point out any inaccuracies and your response was to gloat about your sporting prowess and tell us your wife is the principal bread winner in your family like I’m meant to be impressed.

FWIW again I post what I wrote about Fiora (below)....care to point out anything you disagree with. I also again list the questions I put to you about Fiora reaching the top of his profession...care to comment on them or are you happy to again ignore them and prattle on with your life story?

Instead of responding you went on a stupidity tangent....

I don’t take offence to being called an arrogant pr!ck, I have been called a hell of a lot worse and will be again! I didn’t have a crack at you being a teacher as I have respect for the work that teachers undertake, I did however point out in response to your question that teachers earn minimum wage and it is a joke, and I stand by it. Teachers are paid minimum wages and I can not fathom why anyone would enter into that line of profession.

No big deal to you?
You responded with a barrage of anger and F’s & C’s over something that was no big deal to you? Hate to see your response if there was a real issue BIG Mart. Face facts BIG Mart, this whole pathetic response on your behalf is due to your anger at my minimum wage jibe!

Sprouting off on a forum BIG Mart??? Pot, kettle, Black BIG Mart
Tell us again how good you are at sport Champ.
Oh and tell us you are married to a Doctor again because that is super impressive BIG Mart. In fact give me the whole “life’s goodâ€

Joffa......

I go OK,

Not as well as Aaron though.....who played AFL footy at the ELITE level....someting I wish I had done.....

Questioning my basic intelligence.......good luck to you, I will be shattered if you deem me to be lacking - your opinion really counts.......remember ars*holes????

Why did I bother biting to you?????
Because of arrogant reply then your jibe, and if you read your initial reply it is straight attempt to bag me due to my occupation and my wealth (which is what you are back-peddling from, because you know it made you sond like a MORON). This was a ridiculous attempt to make you opinion more valuable - YOU WERE ON YOUR HIGH HORSE......what I do did not matter...

Why did I mention my wife???
Just to let you know that we do OK (even though she is not a specialist, or is she????? you seem to know)......... because you seemed to be so worried/concerned about my financial situation and BTW - was that a jibe at Doctors aswell, only getting paid peanuts???? not sure many would agree.

Why did I mention my sporting ablilty??
Hell why we are sprouting off, why not....hang on, didn't I just mention that I go OK, and did not list any achievements or even what I play........it was a Jibe....nothing more....

Why did I mention Kevin Rudd......I was letting you know, that even though you sprouted (and then bagged), that I did not really care who you were and what you had done....to me you are just another forumite with an opinion - and you assessment of Aaron Fiora is flawed IMO.

Why did I mention F500????
Again a jibe at you for comparing your success to Fiora's.....both apparantly made it (well we know Fiora has anyway) but then you stated to have made it he should have made it to the top echelon.....so I put the same criteria on you......F500 was a Joke.....did you want me to say BRW
Has MAX made it??? - by your reckoning - NO

Parallel between me and you sister or whoever????
There is ZERO significance.....it was just you trying to justify that you did not bag what I do, because you respect teachers  and believe they are underpaid, and how could they possibly want to do that job :( .....you went from being a smug wanker to a patronising jerk....not sure we want your pity.....as I said, we do fine...

Fact is I asked you a simple question.....

You had ZERO reason to bring me into it, and mention my occupation....it had little or NO relevance...and what was worse, you backed away from what you initially said, and tried to actually defend it

I would love to see your INITIAL response again.....because I am not sure, with all your 'quoting' you have actually read what you wrote, and the undertones you used - because you seem to be in denial....that you f***ed up.

again
Life is good.....
and
Aaron made it to the top level of footy
