Aussie Jones
Now coaching at Gembrooke.
I thought he may of been a chance at getting a job within AFL ranks this year (09 season).
Must be just happy doing his thing at a lower level.
I dont wish him well as his Gembrooke side is also in the YVMD hope they get a flogging all year

Local paper has him marked down as a playing coach, Gembrooke would not sign him up as just a player, they would expect his services as coach also.
Not very big grounds up here Aussie, watch out for the shirt fronts and tackles, even Cuz when playing in this league could not beleive how many tackles get laid and how often you are under the pump to get rid of the ball
Cuz's best line ever in conversation before a game was when I got his mouth gaurd to him after the first round was played, he threw it in his mouth flex his muscles and said you watch this Cuz now that I have my mouth gaurd I'm farking going in head first, verry funny man our Nicky.
Look forward to seeing another Saints man showing us his skills in this league.

Re: Aussie Jones
Unless he's got his head sorted the country stuff is probably his best bet.....remember he left playing at AFL level early not due to poor form or age.Saint Mik wrote:Now coaching at Gembrooke.

Saint Mik. did you play with Nicky in the YVMDFL?Gembrook Cockatoo Football Club announced its new senior coach for season 2009 at its Presentation Dinner last Friday night.
Travis Marsham, formerly an assistant to Aussie Jones at Narre Warren in 2006/07 as well as Gippsland Power in season 2008, will join the Brookers as its Senior Coach in 2009.
Travis is bringing two playing assistants with him, both of whom have now committed to GCFC in 2009.
They are; Austinn (Aussie) Jones - 230 game player with St.Kilda and dual premiership coach at Narre Warren and - Ricky Clark, triple premiership player with Narre Warren and generally recognised as probably the best rover/mid fielder playing in the Casey Cardinia League.
The club is looking forward to these three quality people not only bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and ability - but also to their contributing to the development of our large group of younger players.
All three have expressed their excitement in joining the Brookers and making a real contribution to its development. Roll on 2009!

I was at board level with the club from Mid-Late 90's through to 2006.Snakeman66 wrote:

One of the best meetings ever when we discovered that Cuz was genuine about joining the Burras in 2000.
Ripping bloke, great clubman and made a massive impact on the club.
Great memories while he was with us, still have a laugh when thinking of some of the stories
Should of seen him watching the Saints on TV at the sunday sippers
Do you play in the YVMDFL Snakeman66?
