I would say so - Has endured a lot of family tragedies over the last decade or so.....st_Trav_ofWA wrote:the threat of playing in perth too much for him ??
....Very family orientated - And I guess Sydney is only a one hour flight away, coupled with the abundance of Melbourne fixture games within the season.
Better off though - Definitely getting payed more than what he would have had he just signed.....also a four year deal.

The mention of the Saints was just a feeble attempt to make sure that the thread wasn't lost on the opposition forum.FortiusQuoFidelius wrote:Was never gonna be... and never will be!Spinner wrote:4 year deal - I guess he will never be a Saint afterall.

isnt it great to see the swans hold firm and not trade him for less than value (yes im looking at you hawthorn !)
good to see some strong will power from swans to not jump to the lousy offer from hawthorn when clarko decided to move the goalposts mid negotiations.

Haha, another successful off-season recruiting spree for "the greatest sporting club in the country"markp wrote:On a filth forum I noticed they consoled themselves about missing out on Cousins with the prospect of picking up O'Keefe.... poor sods.
Add Cousins and O'Keefe to that to the long list of players - Lockett, J.Brown, N. Brown, Power, Judd, Stevens, Steve Johnson, Gehrig. All of whom could have easily gone to Collingwood but either they weren't convinced about it or the club basically f*cked up.
Still, Shane Woewodin was a good get, hey Eddie?

While I am definitely not a proponent of the free agency system, I do feel sorry for ROK. As far as the club or SS supporters are concerned everytime he has a bad game from now on it will because he doesnt want to play in the red and white.
I know posters hate the thought of us getting "rejects", but he is exactly the type of player we need to have a crack at the flag. And the sad thing is I dont see from our current or future stocks filling that tough half forward flank role in the next 3-5yrs. It would take some guts but it would be a brave and wise decision to sit C Gardiner down at the start of '09 and say HFF is your spot for 12 weeks make it yours for the rest of your career.
