STOP LIVING IN THE BLOODY HOPE OF 04 FFS!!!!

I have said all along that I think it would be best if Kosi remained in the St Kilda lineup. I am certainly not advocating laziness or lack of discipline, but I am also confident that RL knows how to handle that kind of behaviour. Given that both Dal and Milne were given a stint at Casey, it tells me that for whatever reason he did not feel it was justified to do the same with Kosi.

As for your comments in regards to his performace this year, hell, that would qualify half our team, especially in the first half of the year. Nick had a pitiful first half, should we trade him also? You DO NOT give up a player like Kosi. Yes, he under performed this year but the up side is had his first full year without horrific injuries and it will boost his confidence. Footy is 75% above the shoulders (about the only thing I ever agreed with GT on!). Watch him closely next year, you won't be disappointed!!
"just you wait until next year! kosi will do this that and the other"....
if i read any more "just wait for kosi next year.. ' posts ill puke. why is IT always next year. next year never comes guys. nect year it will be kosi in 2010...
well im still waiting. wait till he gets confident etc etc....
"you will be eating your words"...well im still not eating them... meanwhile roughhead, buddy, tomahawk, jack riewoldt, and whoever else will go past him.
these are the facts
final v geelong = NO GOALS.
final v hawks = NO GOALS
the guys is too small to ever be a ruckmen (196cm) and;
not agile enough to ever play KPP.
so he floats between two positions and he is mediocre at both.
PS Kosi is 197cm.
to prove us wrong,.
tell us when kosi has kicked 5 goals more then twice in one season.
tell us when kosi has played more then 2 good games in a row ASIDE from that purple patch a few years a go
SAY SOMETHING!!
dont jsut nit pick on stupif things
You mentioned two games in which we are smashed on all aspects of the field and you twist it to blame Koschitzke......
Dont ask for substance when clearly, you dont provide it.

Players like Kosi are only as good as the midfields their team has...
a good midfield makes these players look better than they are and poor midfield makes them look ordinary. His best games (with a few exceptions) are those when our midfield has been on top.
IMO keep him. He's no Riewoldt... won't consistently win us games and play well, but if you build a good team around him he's the kind of player that would be awesome in an excellent team
premiership teams are made up of these players. Roughheads not any better but was made to look a lot better by his midfield.

Me either!! I wouldn't rade him at all (short of pav, judd etc) but if he plays 20 odd games next season and doesn't finish top 10 in B&F then things are gonna blow!Sobraz wrote:

Kosi and x are both devalued stock we should look at trading, but keep dal because the upside is still there. polished, skilled, poised...we dont exactly have that in spades at the moment.
please!!!
great post and its a sad indictment on supporters that still live in 04/05...wow...great success there...made a few prelims but have bugger all to show for it

agree 100%. You've got some valid points to put across. Couldn't care less how old you are. Keep at it.win wrote:jake your age is irrelevant. this forum should be scrutinized according to content, not the kind of flatulence and pifflle that some(spinner) equate with logic and reason. go hard jake and stop mentioning your age....irrelevant.

oh FFS Skeptic, you must be winding us up. Roughead = 75 goals this year.skeptic wrote: premiership teams are made up of these players. Roughheads not any better but was made to look a lot better by his midfield.
Roughead is exactly what we hoped Koschitzke would become four or five years ago. He's light years ahead of Kosi.

lynch kicked 70 in their premiership year, so did mooney...
although roughead is a cut above them its a valid point
stick him in the demons forward line and he would struggle to get 50 being the first tall

i think alot of us on here, are still living on that '04 team that we had,
it may sound silly,
but when it comes to trading, some of those, "young key players"
as they were seen back then,
everyone says no, maybe because of the future that looked so promising because of these players 4 years ago.
players like, Kosi Dal and X.
now i agree we shouldnt trade dal, he only had one bad year, and copped some flak.
Good post. I agree. We must build for the future and trade players for picks. A short term band aid solution in getting other players is not a good out come. The only player I want is CUZ (we would not give up much for him).
but kosi and X have been injured to much, to end up having the careers they should of.
i would trade both of them
we cant keep saying "we will regret it if we trade them"
well we are regretting keeping them on the list.
ESSPICALLY X
when was the last time he has put 10 games in a row?
now im not saying these blokes are bad player.
jsut very VERY unlucky.
and maybe its time we stop living from '04
and live from '09 instead?

Fair point SP. Supply is certainly a factor. But he's got the score on the board, and our guy hasn't. The only way for Kosi to shut the critics up is to play some consistent quality footy. I hope he does.

in case you hadn't noticed
the four boundary umpires have made life for Ruckman more difficult
which make players like kosi (who can play ruck) extremely valuable
there is an old saying patience is a virtue
which is a virtue you obviously lack
I have complete faith in what I have seen from Kosi and x , that they will show their worth and their talents in 09
you will probably have to join Jenny Craig because of the weight you will put on from eating humble pie
Re: STOP LIVING IN THE BLOODY HOPE OF 04 FFS!!!!
you've must of already seen jenny, from the humble pie you have been eating for their whole careers so far..sainteronline wrote:maybe you should live in 09saintjake wrote: and live from '09 instead?

and good on him, he also has a premiership medal, full marks
the fact is with a team being so conscious of one player it brings others in
it will be interesting to see once buddy gets injured for a large portion of a season seeing how all the other forwards interact and function actually getting the attention their talent deserves
its a bit like rooey except kosi somehow isnt brought into the game with roo's constant double teaming etc etc
i suspect milne is and his 60 for the year are a testment to this, he had a good year
but surely kosi is able to thrive when playing against at times the 3rd/4th best defender
by definition he should do what roughead does and kick 50+ in a team with decent supply, not good or excellent supply but good enough for a top 8 side
still not great though

Kozi hasn't performed to potential or anywhere near it - agreed.
BUT DON'T YOU THINK THE REST OF THE LEAGUE KNOWS THAT TOO?
What are we gonna trade him for?
'For sale: one overpaid, underperforming, half-ruck, half-forward, slow lumbering footballer with a history of injuries. Any takers?'
So, if we don't get the right picks for him, we'd have to delist him for free - which is EQUALLY daft as keeping him.
So we just keep him.

this business of 'he's a required player' is for the media, the fans, the players involved.
Kozi was available at the right price - as are ALL players.
STK spent two days gathering offers for Kozi. Carlton approached STK with a piss-poor offer (because they know too how disappointing he's been), STK turned it down, and then leaked to the media that they told everyone 'Kozi is not up for trade.'

And where did you get that info from?

On one hand you are saying that Kosi is useless
but on the other hand you are saying that two teams
one that finished above us on the ladder
and the other one that is an up-and-coming finals contender
were interested in trading for him?
As Pauline Hanson would say
please explain?
