I'm not sure that Cousins could find out.....I mean he was pretty inconspicuous.markp wrote:I find it hard to believe the filth hired a PI to follow him around... and if they did and it was discovered, then surely Cousins would tell them where to stick it.

Will have to see what comes in the wash......
How can he be an addict. AFAIK he's never returned a positive result in the 'world's best practice AFL Drug Testing Program'.
It's the AFL part that's the problem there... I'm sure the guys who made 'The Hollowmen' could do them justice.
The PI was a waste of money. They should have just given Hutchy a call! He did a good job of staking him out when all hell broke loose at West Coast at the beginning of the season (even followed him to the US for goodness sake!).markp wrote:I find it hard to believe the filth hired a PI to follow him around... and if they did and it was discovered, then surely Cousins would tell them where to stick it.
Seriously though, wouldn't waste the time with a PI. You either take the punt or you don't! You know he is an addict and the risks associated with it. BC is also being made to be tested using new technology that allows the AFL to ascertain whether he has taken drugs in a 3-4 month period.
Will be very interesting to see how the cards fall in the next 6 weeks........ [/url]

THe Cousins "issue" is an AFL problem, directly related to the ego of Demetriou.
The AFL has a drug testing programme it speaks to as being world's best practice, and it lectures others.
Then, lo and behold, one of the AFL's most prominent players fesses up to being addicted.
Not that he is any orphan in our society, unfortunately.
Demitriou has egg all over his ample face, and looks to deflect criticism including after Cousins was (publicly - how were the TV cameras there at that particular time?) "detained" by the WA Police.
But wait, WA Police had to pay Cousins compensation.
And there were NO charges laid!
So what is this beat up all about?
Demitriou, and just another reason which evidences that he is out of his depth - and out of time.

Fair dinkum the only person who Ben cousins hurt was Ben Cousins IMO he did not bring the game into disrepute as god almighty Demetriou thinks.
The AFL boss should look at other club the f.... I think a few more of their players have done a lot worse then Ben by bringing the game into disrepute but they seem untouchable on most things.
Ihope Ben has recovered and comes out in the red white and black .

I believe that the PI found nothing untoward in Benny's activities - however Benny was not impressed that he was being tailed. Not at all. So, it is Benny that is losing interest in the Pies big time.
I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

so basically if the deal falls through with the Pies, the filth can claim they didnt want him due to "unspecified reasons" - rather than saying - "yeah, we managed to stuff up the recruitment of another big name"

The PI is actually a former Collingwood player (played a handfull of games in the mid eighties) before being cut down by injury who now has a successful PI agency. This gentleman usually stakes out Workcare fraud and cheating spouses for a living.

at the minute.
the bookies arn't stupid - the maket for cousins is framed a certain way for a reason
ask craig bellamy re : cameron smith guilty $1.15 no guilty $ 4.15.
anyone that thinks there is no "insider informantion" has rocks in their head.

I would expect them to do nothing less given eddy's sensitivities.markp wrote:I find it hard to believe the filth hired a PI to follow him around... and if they did and it was discovered, then surely Cousins would tell them where to stick it.

this works in our favour
i wouldnt go to a club that was following me and didnt trust me, what would happen once they sign him would they still follow him and give him a curfew
he will more than fill Harvey's void
we need him if we dont lose much for it
our first pick in PSD is after Sydney who also want him, they will have room in their cap
