why i think we should trade kosi
firstly..
its not kosis fault he was a high draft pick
not his fault he has high expectations
not his fault he is highly paid
i feel he is a victim of circumstance. however the issue for me is a team issue. if he is getting paid double everyone else and is performing equal and putting equal effort in to everyone else then you get a performance/benchmark issue throughout the entire team.
lets say in your job - you know the guy that sits next you gets paid double you - but u think you perform at least as well - maybe better than him/her and give at least as much if not more effort and bring equal or more business to your work - do you resent it? does it effect your motivation? F OATH it is. is it the other persons fault? NO.
kosi is just a victim of unfair expectations - but for him (im sure he feels the pressure) and for the others players motivation, morale and benchmarking - he should be either
a) traded; or
b) given a serious paycut

i think because they are contracted and no other club would be prepared to pay what we are paying - which means we would have to pay some of their wage at another club. think nick holland, jade rawlings....plugger66 wrote:You keep saying this but how do you know for sure?ralphysaints35 wrote:Will Not Be Traded

look i dont mind being wrong. this is an opinion page. i dont mind people disagreeing. but it shites me when people dont put up an argument or a counter-point on a post on the actual issue and just bag someone personally.Life Long Saint wrote:I don't think it is unfortunate at all...Moccha wrote:Con, Unfortunately you don't have a say!

i know all that. just think that at 196cm - he is NOT a ruckmen. we need to face the fact we need another ruckmen (i know it is an awful thought given how many ruckmen we have been through in the last few years)saintsrus wrote:How can we justify trading him
King isnt getting younger and is injury prone.
Will Mg be there next year and same with injuries
If Kings out, who do we have left, Mcevoy and Rix, not a combination that would satisfy
Blake has his spot now down back
Kosi will stay, we have no choice

we wont trade them because no other club will pay their wage and we arent going to pay half their wage at a rival club.ralphysaints35 wrote:the club will not trade either of these 2Moccha wrote:Maybe they stinkplugger66 wrote:You keep saying this but how do you know for sure?ralphysaints35 wrote:Will Not Be Traded

trading dal would be madness - you can NEVER have enough good midfielders.

we wont trade kosi because 1 . he is 6 foot 6 massive build. you dont get them everywhere.Con Gorozidis wrote:we wont trade them because no other club will pay their wage and we arent going to pay half their wage at a rival club.ralphysaints35 wrote:the club will not trade either of these 2Moccha wrote:Maybe they stinkplugger66 wrote:You keep saying this but how do you know for sure?ralphysaints35 wrote:Will Not Be Traded

Ok here is my take on the whole thing, everyone says we need him because of his potential and his versatility etc. etc.
I always hear how he is our potential first ruck man and our potential second forward yet he has done nothing but disappoint in both positions.
If we could trade Kosi for a player who is a better forward or a better ruckman then him aswell as a draft pick we would be the big winners in that trade.
Eg. Kosi for Seaby and a second rounder.
Seaby is not a great ruckman but he is a better back up than Kosi or Rix... We could then pick up a KPF with that second round, whether it be through trade or draft...
The same thing goes for Dal Santo, we could pick up a player who does the exact same job, albeit not quite as good and get a draft pick aswell...
IMO we need to target Seaby and Reilly, because given a choice I would much rather have Seaby, Reilly and two second rounders rather than Dal and Kosi.
But I'm still happy to see if Sydney or Freo will have a trade week brain fart and offer out a 1st rounder for Kosi

ok im happy to keep him. but we can pay him for what he is? a good player - a 6 or 7/ 10.bigcarl wrote:don't trade him, just recognise that he isn't going to make it as a key position forward and is best used as second ruck.
he'll look a hell of a lot better with a fast-leading full forward beside him.
we are paying him as an elite - 8 or 9/10 which he aint. he needs a 20-30% pay cut. otherwise we get list/pay/motivation imbalance within the team.
