But it is great to finally see an old tradition return :D

When was the last time it was on?
2001 when channel 7 lost rights to televising?

So good to see channel chump (ten) miss out this year

But yeah, the amount of advertising is laughable.

Was watching the '66 GF before and they had ad breaks before a boundary throw in and then after Breeny's point :?

Traditional thing to do and glad it's back.

Just woke up from having watched it all night.

To be honest I would rather watch the ads than turn onto Channel 7 and see that dopey lookin' Hamish McLachlan getting a presenting gig.

they had a great interview with cowboy neale and des tuddenham before and after the 1966 segment.

felt a bit for tuddy, actually, because they were grilling him on why he didn't take a bounce and go for a bit of a run in the dying seconds.

instead, he went long, only to find bob murray taking that strong pack mark.

tuddy's been trying to live it down ever since.

Lucky they never interviewed Ted Potter and asked him how it felt when he handballed to Barry Breen and Breen kicked THAT point.

Went to bed after that. Glad I didn't stick around for the '97 GF.
Typical of them to show that after the '66 to take off the gloss. Lousy sods!

Why watch it live?

I taped it - the whole 8 hours - got a whole off season to zip through the ads and watch what I want to!

i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
