Armitage to Brisbane?
I know!!! Lets try and get Spida back and maybe Sean Charles and Matthew Young?!
Whats with all this rush to trade good YOUNG players? For Gods sake, take a bit of time to draw breath and act with a modicum of consideration when managing the list

I reckon Armo is actually another Andrew Thompson - a late developer.....similar type of burst player perhaps?
Wouldn't surprise me if Armo played 200 games for us, provided he can play on into his early 30's.....I'm not expecting him to really deliver until 2010 when his body full matures.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

i agree with most of your posts ev, but what credits does armo have up his sleeve?evertonfc wrote:I'd do a deal if it was outrageously in our favour.
But Armitage has a few credits up his sleeve.
what devastating performances has he put in that have turned a game?
i don't want him traded, in fact that would be a huge mistake but what exactly has he done to warrant half this forum creaming themselves at the mention of the guys name?

Agree though he's done little in the seniors.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Why give up Armo?
Give hm at least another year of sold gametime, not in and out week to week and he will develop into a great player and future vice-captain at the very least.
Apart from anything else and was with the Lions, worked at their shop and couldn't get a game, so why would he go back there?

honestly I don't get it !!!
A lot of you have been screaming the last few years about how we don't blood enough kids and also scream blue murder when we trade of early picks for older players.
Yet when we do have a decent young kid, it's lets trade him
sorry it does not make sense to me...

Just how many posts have there been about the trade period??
Grabbing players from other clubs for draft picks...
One classic was the possibility of trading our first draft pick to a 28 year old...
Gee, this years draft is meant to run deep and some on here are willing to trade in a "band aid" fix... for the illusion of possible success...
IT WON'T HAPPEN...
and plenty of coaches have been found out using that method IMO
We should take a leaf out of the Hawks style of player management...
trade players for draft picks and build a team
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!

My view DSGal is that if we don't trade or endeavour to get higher picks then we don't improve. keeping our fingers crossed and praying that Baker and Maguire will get back and pick up the AFL pace circa 2009 won't cut it.Dal_Santos_Gal wrote:honestly I don't get it !!!

No point in trading our guns and unfortunately our older players who are not guns have absolutely no currency or at best we're trading a hyundai for a kia. This leaves the young players, personally I think Armo is one paced and one positioned, a Queensland boy who loves the idea of being an AFL player but is not prepared to work hard enough beyond his U/18 'mature body' reputation. Eddy and Geary have probably both passed him this year in club ratings. However I believe that GC17 will chase him hard and he probably believes that as well. In my scenario we could pick up Sherman, young and more games experience as well as better our draft pick.
But let's face it, it won't happen and the right people being Lyon and our recruiters will make better informed decisions than us wannabes on the internet.
Only my opinion, nothing against Armo, I hope he does become a 200+ game player...jst not seeing it at the minute.

How about we tell the Brisbane fans to get stuffed.SENsaintsational wrote:The Lions FANS want him? Oh okay then, I must put some thought into this one.
Required player. But could do with an attitude readjustment in his off field preparations.
Was Harvey referring to him the other night when he talked about the need for young players to get their preparation right?
Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.
