Carlton pursuing Maguire
I can tell you that my mail has Carlton making "enquiries" about goose at player and managment level.
What I can't tell you is what our club's response has been.

Just looking forward to us having a real crack each week, and appreciating the younger talent coming through.

Fine.
For Jaryd Waite or Bryce Gibbs and we'll look at it..
Need Gosse with Maxy's departure imminant.

Goose is the most interesting one of all during trade. Kosi and Dal aren't going anywhere - simple. But Goose...
Career riddled with severe injuries and distinct possibility he won't get back to where he was.
I'd say KEEP HIM, but if someone offered low picks, or a tough mid, well...

carlton would plonk him at chf as they need another good mark to compliment fev. it is perhaps a role for him that we should be contemplating to compliment riewoldt.
injury free it could be a masterstroke by them.
they have been itching to get back at us for hamill for years.
i wouldn't do business with them. crooks and cheats.

Goose doesn't have much trade value.
these are the sort of deals that can come back to bite you,

We shoudl play absolute hard ball, why should we give up a player we have nurtured and developed to one of our main rivals for a song?
If we were to trade Goose I would want nothing less than a good player and a first round draft pick

they remember him at his barnstorming best a few years ago. he's more highly regarded at other clubs than he is at st kilda, i can tell you.JeffDunne wrote:Huh?bigcarl wrote:well if they're interested, he must have some.JeffDunne wrote:Goose doesn't have much trade value.
Just because you chase a player it doesn't mean you're willing to give up the earth for them.
i'm already having nightmares of judd putting them down the throats of he and fev as they monster our defence.

So far Carlton are trading for Daniel Kerr, Robert Warnock, Matt Maguire and Corey Jones.
Any others I am missing?
I'm tipping one, and only one, of those will come off.
Personally, I would've thought Carlton would be more interested in Kosi than Goose.

1st rounder? you must be kidding.S.A Saint wrote:the question is though, will he ever recover from all those leg injuries. and he has basically had two years out of the game. when he came back this year he looked too slow to hold a key defender spot. i would be happy with a 1st or 2nd rounder for goose.
my mail (pretty good source) - says he will never be the same again. his injury was very very serious and horrific at times. he may never play again and if he does will be a shadow of his former self.
PS. PLEASE DELETE THIS MESSAGE BEFORE CARLTON READ IT. we should try to get something good for him from those scum bags.
