Good. I hate to see good players knocked out of a GF particularly for what would have been negligence rather than malice. Having said that he is lucky that Max tucked his head in. As is Max, of course.

Yep. Accept. Happy to take the decision of the MRP on that one.

Lucky boy! I'm glad its benefitted us, for once...but what's with the finals series let-off's? Seems to be that since Bazza belted Moose in the guts, you'd have to murder someone to get a suspension...most of the big hits I've seen would have attracted at least a couple weeks on the sidelines during the season. Jason Cloke must feel particularly ripped off!?!

Stupid decision. Again shows that we are not popular with the AFL.

He should go to the tribunal and tell them he whacked Mitchell, was glad he whacked Mitchell but the ball was in play.

He'd be happy to cop the same suspension as psycho Barry did in a preliminary final or Dunkley for that matter.

I don't like carryover points, especially since BJ has been showing his anger in the last half of the season. (I wish some of the other players showed the same passion).

GODDARD AND HILL REPRIMANDED
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008 at 4:30 pmBY ALANA LAKELAND

THE AFL match review panel has handed out identical punishments to Saint Brendon Goddard and Western Bulldog Josh Hill.

Each player has accepted a reprimand and 93.75 points towards their future records after incidents from the weekend’s preliminary finals.

Goddard was charged for striking Hawks captain Sam Mitchell on Saturday night and Hill was pulled up for bumping or making forceful front-on contact on Geelong’s Andrew Mackie

22 rounds I think. Not sure if it's inclusive.

Remember what happened with Kosi against the Hawks...

Player Smith qualifies for the 25% deduction for a good record and he
submits an early guilty plea.
He would be suspended for one match with 26.56 residual points carried
over for one AFL year. He would also have a 10% loading for three
AFL years.
25% of the base points shall be deducted if the player has not been
found guilty of any reportable offence within the previous five AFL years. If
the player’s only reportable offence(s) in the previous five AFL years have
been financial sanctions, he still qualifies for the 25 per cent deduction.
If a player takes an early guilty plea, the demerit points, including
additions or deductions, are subject to a 25% reduction.
so what do people understand "one AFL year' to include.
less than THAN 100 - The player is not suspended from playing but carries the allocated points for one AFL year and they will be added to any future points allocated within that one AFL year.

It's a pretty light tap on the wrist for BJ. I think he's a lucky boy, but it's terrific news for the club!!

It's such a crock isn't it Brattty?

I mean, what the heck is an AFL year?

What drugs are those clowns on?

Why not state "12 months" and be done with it?

Or 365 days?

No, they have to create an Official Authorised phrase, no doubt exclusive to Telstra/Bigpond, signed off by Toyota and Coke, and never to be used by Ford or Channel 9!
