Grand Final goals
We've picked out what we reckon are the 10 best Grand Final goals in the televised era.
Austinn ‘Aussie’ Jones
St Kilda v Adelaide, 1997
Five bounces and a dodgy handball later and Aussie Jones is banging one home on his left from 50 metres. Watch

This is the first time I have ever been able to watch any footage from that game.
It still hurts so much.
It still hurts so much.
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

l'll never forget the wonderful feeling of that goal going through that day. Sitting in our 'restricted view' seating in the old stand & we just went berzerk when it sailed through, and thought "Here we go..." Unfotunately, we all know what happened after that. However, that was then, this is now.

Yeah, I was in that pocket, ground level, but way at the back. I remember yelling at the absolute top of my voice to "nail it" as he kicked the ball.
But how good were the two shepherds, one by Brett Cook (i think) on the wing to clear a path for his team mate, and the other by Buckets to allow the ball to sail through for a magical grand final moment.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

Thommo's gather and handball to keep the play going . . . and then clip behind the ears he got from Jars . . . . great piece of play under pressure.
still like hally's running goal from outside 50 in front of MCC members . . . thought we were home after that one . . . .
Shane Ellen ?
did he ever do anything else in any other game in his career ?

Brett Cook's shepered on Kosta was probably the best shepard i have seen from a big man. The week before hand against North he and Burkey decked Corey Mckernan (popped his shoulder out from memory, as soon as he saw the shoulder he almost broke down and cried)
Buckets shepered though was just a matter of him putting his hands up ( they could have stopped sunlight those mitts )
